Newark NJ, New Jersey Transit Police Lieutenant Miano was supervising a uniformed detail of detectives at stations in the Oranges. At Orange Station, Miano checked in on a detective and noticed this small kitten being fed by passing commuters. The stray kitten climbed Miano’s leg and was lifted into his arms. As Miano departed to complete his duties, he consulted with his family. They decided if it was still there when he returned, he would take the kitten home.⁣

Newark NJ, during a recent tour of duty, New Jersey Transit Police Officers Castillo, Tejada, and Sergeant Krause were protecting travel surrounding Newark Penn Station. They were approached by detectives who shared information and a description of a subject wanted by Newark PD. The subject was wanted for multiple serious offenses.⁣

New Jersey Transit Police Reunite Commuter with Stolen Engagement Ring

Ridgewood NJ,  New Jersey Transit Police officers were happy to reunite a fiancé with her stolen engagement ring. She had been traveling on the Hudson Bergen Light Rail days prior when her ring was stolen. At that time, she reached out to NJTPD and officers Markowitz and Sullivan responded to assist. The officers reviewed surveillance footage and observed a suspect take the ring and flee from the area. ⁣

Masks will no longer be required on NJ TRANSIT and by South Jersey Transportation Authority. Individuals may wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by personal level of risk.

Bayonne Police provided a description of a missing autistic male with special needs. The missing male was unreachable due to a dead cell phone. His last possible location, (Cherry Hill) was 100+ miles from home

Near the end of January this year, three New York City police officers responded to a domestic dispute call in Harlem. The caller hadn’t mentioned any weapons being involved. The police met with a woman and her son in their apartment. The woman said she had been arguing with another son, Lashawn McNeil, who was in a back room.

Ridgewood NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced his intention to nominate Carlos A. Medina, Esq, Kiabi Carson, and Evan Weiss to the NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors. The Governor will also directly appoint Rashonda Brown and Karen Thomas to serve on the board. As the Murphy Administration continues to improve and invest in NJ TRANSIT, the new members will bring “fresh and diverse” perspectives to the Board.
