N.J.Food & Clothing Rescue redistributes donated food, clothing, personal hygiene items and at times household items and other necessities in a rapid manner to people in crisis whether it be due to fire, homelessness or personal situations.

“WITH THE HELP of many generous people and volunteers over the past year our charity has helped in excess of 40,000 people we have rescued and redistributed at least 60,000 pounds of perishable foods.

We started and ran a pantry successfully helping an average of 40 families per week for 3 months prior to someone doing a hostile takeover over of it.

We have run roughly 40 street outreaches, mostly in Newark but also a couple in Paterson which provided food, clothes, and personal hygiene items to 1000’s of people living on the street and emergency shelters.

We did about 40 or so outreaches at HQ providing perishable foods to people in the local community.

We collected over 2000 cans of play-doh for the kids cancer center in Hackensack.

We collected 118 turkeys and received donations of other foods that we cooked and made 1000 heat and serve thanksgiving dinners, as well as cook it yourself thanksgiving meal “bags” and distributed them through 3 counties and 9 towns to veterans, seniors, pantries and many people that would not have had a thanksgiving dinner otherwise.

We assisted the city of Passaic with an outreach for seniors and we provided enough household necessities and personal hygiene items for roughly 60 seniors.

Between last year , and this year, we collected and distributed enough school supplies to help over 1000 students that might not have what they need to start the school year off with what they need.

We assisted about 300 families that had fires and lost everything.including many new clothes and hygiene items for the huge fire in Passaic and new school supplies and uniforms for a family that had a fire the day before school started and they lost everything.

We organized and ran a world homeless day outreach with 6 other groups in newark and helped in excess of 500 people in 4 hours, with clothes, hygiene items, and food.

We did an indoor outreach at a shelter that has hundreds of kids and provided at least 100 kids coats and winter footwear for them.

We collected many toys at Christmas and helped Santa make many kids Christmas a little happier.
we worked with another group and provided several hundred pairs of shoes, sandals, flip flops for people in the DR that have no footwear.

Amazingly….we were able to help get a sick mom and her son off the street for about a week and give her time to feel better in a relaxed situation and buy her time to apply for services.

We have and continue to work with other charities and organizations, helping them to help others.

If you feel we are deserving…PLEASE SHARE this post so that SOMEONE in the Passaic/Garfield/Wallington area sees it that can help us find a new place to work from. if we don’t get a new place we will no longer be able to do all these things.”

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ,  Today, Independent Women’s Voice announced that Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ) has signed the ObamaCare Repeal Pledge. Garrett currently represents New Jersey’s 5th Congressional district.

As it turns out, pretty much nothing that Obama and his healthcare “experts” predicted about Obamacare actually came true.  With 2017 rates now finalized across the country, in fact, Obamacare premiums are expected to increase an average of 25% nationally according to data from the Kaiser Foundation.  Meanwhile, the 10 hardest hit states will see premiums increase an average of 62% while Arizona is officially the biggest loser with rates in Phoenix soaring 145%

Reg. Scott Garrett’s signature on the Pledge is a clear demonstration of his commitment to the full and complete repeal of ObamaCare and to end the harm that it is inflicting upon American families,” said Heather R. Higgins, President and CEO of Independent Women’s Voice.

“Scott understands that ObamaCare is hiking insurance premiums, diminishing quality of care, and reducing our choice and control in health care decisions,” added Higgins. “He understands that ObamaCare means bigger government and less freedom. For these reasons, and many more, it must be repealed.”

“ObamaCare has unequivocally failed,” said Rep. Scott Garrett. “Many Americans have lost their health insurance, and premiums and deductible costs have increased for families. I believe healthcare choices need to be in the hands of patients and doctors. I want to encourage innovation and competition while giving people more freedom and flexibility to make their own healthcare decisions. I want to take concrete steps to replace ObamaCare to achieve these better results for all Americans.”

“The Repeal Pledge was designed as a litmus test to help the American public understand which candidates and office holders are serious about repeal, versus those who claim to be but won’t actually take action,” continued Higgins.  “With this commitment, Cong. Scott Garrett passes that test.”

The Repeal Pledge is a project of Independent Women’s Voice, a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan, nonprofit organization.

TRENTON — Eight state lawmakers ventured out to Colorado last week to see for themselves the impact legalized marijuana has had on the state’s economy, government and public safety.

The all returned impressed, and the state’s second most influential elected official, Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-Gloucester) said he sees it being a “game-changer” for job creation.

“I was on board before we went, but I am absolutely sold that this industry can be regulated. It’s safe, it’s well managed. Colorado has done an amazing job,” Sweeney said.

Here is a look at what likely needs to happen for New Jersey to legalize recreational pot.

Is Comedian Piscopo Making the Rounds for a 2017 NJ Gubernatorial Bid ?
October 24,2016
the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, New Jersey native and former Saturday Night Live star Joe Piscopo came to the statehouse today for an afternoon sit-down with Governor Chris Christie.

The purpose it seems is that the radio show host, Piscopo is feeling out a run for governor next year.Piscopo has also been seen making the rounds most notably for Italian American Heritage Month .

Piscopo formerly a Democrat, now an independent and would run as a Republican. While ex-Goldman Sachs Phill Murphy has been out and about for the Democrats ,Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, a Republican from Somerset County, has already announced his candidacy; and LG Kim Guadagno is expected to kick off her campaign after the presidential election.

Since many insiders say the state’s finances are a joke , a comedian might just be what we need.

Doherty, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and former Army officer, said that protests popularized by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick are hypocritical and worthy of condemnation.

“Standing for our national anthem is a sign of respect for the millions of Americans who fought and died for all of us, including Mr. Kaepernick, to live in a free nation.

“For Mr. Kaepernick and other professional athletes to protest while reaping all of the benefits of those sacrifices, including multi-million dollar salaries and lavish lifestyles, reeks of hypocrisy at the highest level.”

Gottheimer Assault Allegation Court Record Surfaces

Josh Gottheimer

October 22,2016

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ,  Josh Gottheimer is covering up allegations about a court case where he was charged with aggressively intimidating and assaulting a woman. He’s repeatedly lied to reporters, saying, “there was no settlement.”

Oops.

Hate to burst your bubble, Josh, but we found the court records, and it shows you settled the case with your victim. We guess the Fifth District won’t like you very much when you get angry.

Josh Gottheimer has consistently lied throughout this campaign, and now, just like his mentor Hillary, he’s trying to use the press as a de facto extension of his campaign. We’re pretty sure the New Jersey press corps is too smart for that. Below is definitive proof of the existence of a settlement between Josh and his assault victim on March 14, 2008. Attached is the entire court record.

gottheimer-assault-court-record

Screenshot 2016 10 21 at 8.44.15 PM

Josh Gottheimer has dismissed his assault of this woman as “frivolous.” If that’s the case, why won’t he just release the settlement?

Oh, that’s right, because it shows he attacked and intimidated a woman and then settled with her out of court to avoid having to admit his actions in open court.

Josh Gottheimer claims to stand for women, but as is so often the case with Clinton cronies, it’s clear that his actions don’t match his words.

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, On Tuesday, November 1st, just two weeks from today, every fill-up at the gas pump will cost drivers and commuters 23 cents/gallon more in gas taxes.

A family with two cars will pay about $300 more per year. Commuters with long drives may pay hundreds more.

I announced yesterday that I’m joining with Senator Kip Bateman to sponsor a bill to repeal this unaffordable gas tax increase.

We’re introducing the legislation, but we can’t repeal the gas tax by ourselves. We’ll need your help. Will you join the repeal effort too?

If you want to help stop this tax increase, please take a few seconds to sign our repeal petition:

Will NJ soon be under drought warning?

tapwater-1

Kala Kachmar , @NewsQuip2:54 p.m. EDT October 19, 2016

The state is holding a public hearing on Thursday to determine whether a drought warning will be issued for 12 New Jersey counties.

Minimal rainfall, below-normal storage in water supply reservoirs, depleted stream flow and low groundwater levels are all contributing to the drought situation, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Issuing a warning gives the DEP the authority to manage water resources to avoid a shortage.

All but three — Cape May, Atlantic and Cumberland counties — are under a drought watch. Counties that could soon be under a warning: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union.

6 reasons the dark days of N.J.’s old DMV hell may have returned

MVC

By Larry Higgs | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com
on October 19, 2016 at 9:00 AM, updated October 19, 2016 at 11:13 AM

As little as three years ago, an NJ.com story declared the “bad old days of the DMV” — long lines, rude employees and a bureaucracy from hell, were a thing of the past.

In 2002, then Gov. James E. McGreevey convened the “Fix DMV” commission, which delivered a report about how to deal with the Division of Motor Vehicles chronic problems of lines, long waits and inefficiencies. The Nov. 2002 report led to the creation of the current Motor Vehicle Commission.

Under the MVC, wait times and lines had gotten shorter. Even beleaguered Jersey drivers stuck up for the agency, saying that it was better than it used to be.

Ridgewood NJ,  Josh Gottheimer is covering up allegations about a court case where he was charged with aggressively intimidating and assaulting a woman. His campaign spin machine is intentionally misleading the press using carefully parsed phrases to obscure the truth.

  • How much does Josh Gottheimer believe the safety and security of women is worth?
  • How much did he pay this woman to forget his assault on her?

Josh Gottheimer has dismissed his assault of this woman as “frivolous.” If that’s the case, why won’t he just release the settlement? Instead, his campaign is simply using political spin to obfuscate reality.

Josh Gottheimer claims to stand for women, but as is so often the case with Clinton cronies, it’s clear that his actions don’t match his words.

Media Pile-On Tries to Discredit, Unseat NJ Republican by Smearing Oath Keepers as Terrorists

Oath Keepers

Media Pile-On Tries to Discredit, Unseat NJ Republican by Smearing Oath Keepers as The Democrats and their media amplifiers get their cover from a New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness “analysis,” claiming: The militia movement is decentralized, but it has two large followings—the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters. Both have members who justify the use of violence to counter perceived threats or violations to the US Constitution.

Media Pile-On Tries to Discredit, Unseat NJ Republican by Smearing Oath Keepers as Terrorists

“The truth?” a political attack ad for Democrat New Jersey Congressional challenger  and former Bill Clinton speechwriter Josh Gottheimer against incumbent Republican Scott Garrett asks. “Newspapers just caught Garrett at a fund-raiser with the leader of a home-grown terrorist militia group.”

A Clinton-backer promising truth should be all the red flags we need.

The “terrorist militia group”?  That would be Oath Keepers, assuming you can believe those newspapers, which appear to be doing everything they can to sway the electorate into accepting a political narrative that folds under minimal scrutiny. Witness recent headlines:

“Republican Chairman of Wall Street Committee Held Fundraiser with Official from ‘Domestic Terrorist’ Group,” Joshua Green of Bloomberg Business Week “reports.” (Yes, that Bloomberg.)

“Garrett event promoter tied to extremists,” NorthJersey.com weighs in. “Forget Wall Street banksters. Scott Garrett has new friends, on a terror list,” NJ.com echoes and embellishes.

Sensing political opportunity and more headlines, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg has called on Gov. Chris Christie to “denounce Garrett for his ties to the domestic terror organization” and on New Jersey’s attorney general to investigate if “Garrett violated New Jersey law, adding “In the wake of homegrown terror attacks – like the ones in Elizabeth, New York, and Seaside Park – the citizens of New Jersey deserve to know the full extent of Congressman Garrett’s connections to this terrorist organization.”

Yes, that’s Loretta Weinberg of “Confiscate, confiscate, confiscate” notoriety.

As an aside, it’s curious that Weinberg was referring to Islamist “domestic terror” acts with the principle suspect being one of those “refugees” Democrats are bound and determined to seed and embed throughout the Republic. Any connection to Oath Keepers was left (purposely) unstated, because there is none, and because the agenda here is to destroy them.

Which makes it fair to ask what the Democrat politicians and their “news media” publicists are talking about, and what else they’ve gotten wrong in their ceaseless, agenda-driven mission to conflate, smear, misinform and confuse. The answer is pretty much everything.
