New Bridge Landing NJ, from the Bergen County Historical Society , Good morning Bergen County! The snow is gone and Historic New Bridge Landing will be open today November 18, Sunday, from 12-4 pm as we bring to life one of the important stories that occurred on this hallowed ground.
On November 20th, 1776, five thousand British, Hessian and Loyalist troops, under command of Lt. Gen. Lord Cornwallis, scaled the Palisades at Lower Closter Dock and marched against Fort Lee. Warned by an alert officer, the American garrison escaped entrapment by safely crossing the Hackensack River at New Bridge, now known as the Bridge That Saved a Nation, and lived to fight another day.

Rivervale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi continues to follow up on the adenovirus outbreak at the Wanaque facility.
On her Facebook page she says , “Early this morning I had a conference call with the New Jersey Commissioner of Health. Another child has died due to the adenovirus outbreak at the Wanaque facility bringing the total number of deaths to 11 and total number of infections to 34. The infection rate is now at approximately 75% of all children in that unit. There are many unanswered questions as to the sanitary practices of the facility leading up to this heartbreaking disaster. All remaining children are being separated within the facility to ensure no additional infections. The Commissioner has agreed to sit down in person and discuss necessary legislative solutions to ensure that a situation like this never happens again. It is unconscionable that patients are still becoming infected as recently as four days ago.

At 359 PM EST, an area of heavy snow was located along a line extending from Columbia to Chatham to Brookville to 6 miles south of
Shinnecock Hills. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.
Locations impacted include…Islip, Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Paterson, Bridgeport,
New Haven, Elizabeth, Stamford, Flatbush, Norwalk, Danbury, New Rochelle and Flushing.
Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in this area of heavy snow. Snowfall rates will average between 1 and 2 inches an hour. Travel will be difficult and should be avoided
where possible.
Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly refreezes.

The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
