‘Flawless’ Academy of the Holy Angels Dance Their Way to Two National Titles

Demarest NJ, there’s nothing like the glitter of gold. Ask the Academy of the Holy Angels Varsity and JV dance teams, the nation’s newly-crowned 2024 pom champions. AHA’s dancers were the darlings of the Universal Dance Association’s National High School Championships, where the varsity Angels earned their team’s first national pom title, and JV brought home its second pom championship.

Demarest NJ, Five top vocalists from Holy Angels will represent the Academy at the 2024 Carnegie Hall Honors Performance Series. Martine Alvarez of Chestnut Ridge (New York), Haedyn Brigati of Englewood Cliffs, Alyssa Finch of River Vale, Lilianna Garber of Mahwah, and Kiera Kwiatkowski of Glen Ridge successfully auditioned for the upcoming High School Honors Women’s Choir. Together with peers from around the globe, they will work with a renowned conductor to put together a mid-winter concert at this world-famous venue.

Academy of the Holy Angels’ Turkey Drive Provides Thanksgiving Meals for People in Need

Demarest NJ, everyone who participated in the Academy of the Holy Angels’ Turkey Drive helped the Community FoodBank of New Jersey provide healthy, nutritious Thanksgiving meals for people in need. Campus Minister Maryanne Miloscia organizes this annual activity, and the AHA community responds to the call to serve others. This year’s drive netted 43 turkeys.

At the time, the Little Ferry resident met an older Scout who was a junior member of a Hasbrouck Heights emergency medical services team. Captivated, Roque was determined to serve as an EMT, and ultimately become a doctor.

Demarest NJ, “Metros Monday” (June 12) was particularly memorable for performing artist Nora Giannantonio. This rising senior from the Academy of the Holy Angels brought home a sought-after Metropolitan High School Theater Award for Best Vocal Performance in a Female-Identifying Role. She was honored for her portrayal of Feste in “Twelfth Night the Musical.”

Demarest NJ, Kathryn Fragola, a brand new graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels, is now the newest member of the Fordham University Dance Team. Fragola’s signing ceremony was held at her alma mater on June 8. AHA Head Dance Coach Jenny Sweet, Fordham Dance Coach Stephanie Yonkovich, and Fragola’s parents Virginia and Vito were on hand to celebrate.

National Honor Society Opens Doors to 71 Academy of the Holy Angels Students

Demarest NJ, Seventy-one students from the Academy of the Holy Angels have been inducted into the Regina Angelorum Chapter of the National Honor Society. The NHS was established in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals to encourage and honor students who exemplify scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
