Oakland NJ, A Bergen County doctor today admitted distributing opioids without a legitimate medical reason and falsifying medical records to cover it up, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
Robert Delagente, 45, of Oakland, New Jersey, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi in Newark federal court to an indictment charging him with one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances, three counts of distribution of controlled dangerous substances, and one count of falsifying medical records.

Oakland NJ, according to the Oakland Police department at approximately 9:52 a.m. on December 16, 2019, the Oakland Police Department received a report from a concerned citizen regarding an individual that appeared to be in need of medical assistance who was seen laying outside of a vehicle on Franklin Avenue. Upon the arrival of Officer Tinio, the complainant reported that the individual, later identified as Logan Dipaolo, had gotten up and was last seen running through a wooded area adjacent to I-287. Dipaolo was apprehended by Officer Tinio and Detective Hintzen and further investigation led to his arrest for driving under the influence. A search of Dipaolo’s vehicle led to the discovery of several folds of suspected heroin and hypodermic needles. Questioning at the scene of Dipaolo led to the discovery of a second individual involved, Joseph Bokun, who was located by PO Rowin at Walgreens and placed under arrest for being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. While in custody, further information developed that ultimately led to the discovery of a handgun and an additional amount of CDS in the wooded area that Dipaolo was seen running in by canine officers from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department.

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of Hackensack Police Lieutenant RICHARD LEVIS (DOB: 02/21/1970; married; employed as a police officer) of Butler, NJ, on charges of Burglary and Stalking. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Oakland Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Keith Sanzari.
On December 30, 2018, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Hackensack Police Lieutenant Richard LEVIS may have surreptitiously placed a Global Positioning System (“GPS”) tracking device in his estranged wife’s vehicle without permission. A subsequent investigation by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Confidential Investigations Unit and the Oakland Police Department Internal Affairs Unit confirmed that LEVIS’ estranged wife discovered a GPS in her vehicle and that LEVIS had been using the device to track her whereabouts.
As a result of the investigation, Richard LEVIS was issued a Summons by Bergen County Central Municipal Court on January 7, 2019 in Hackensack, charging him with one count of Burglary, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:18-2, a 3rd degree crime; and one count of Stalking, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-10(b), a 4th degree crime. Richard LEVIS is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
Bergen County Acting Prosecutor Calo states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Oakland Police Department for its assistance in this investigation. Acting Prosecutor Calo would also like to thank the Hackensack Police Department for its cooperation in this matter.

Ridgewood NJ , we have received multiply reports that mail dropped at the Ridgewood Post Office was somehow stolen and checks were fraudulently altered and deposited. This follows a similar reports in the Twp of Washington and in Oakland Nj, earlier this year .

Oakland NJ, Oakland Police, Oakland Fire Department, Oakland EMS, and Franklin Lakes EMS responded to aid the victims of a Wednesday afternoon, 10/17, rollover crash in front of 392 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland. A total of four (4) vehicles were involved in the collision, including a marked Oakland police SUV, which appeared to have been parked when it was hit. Two (2) victims were transported by ambulance to Chilton Medical Center, three (3) other victims refused medical aid, Multiple tow trucks were required to remove wreckage from the scene.

Ridgewood NJ, On Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at 10:00 AM, there will be a Blessing of the Animals celebrating the Feast of St. Francis at Christ Episcopal Church, 105 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite pets: dogs, cats, rabbits, goldfish, stuffed animals . . .any beloved “creatures, great or small. A short service celebrating all animals will be followed by individual blessings of each animal. Some orphaned dogs and cats who are eligible for adoption from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland will also be present. Refreshments will be served. The service will be held inside the church, rain or shine.

Ridgewood NJ, School’s out, pools are open, and it is time to start catching up on our TBR (to be read) piles this summer. Librarians Kerri and Lorri share what they plan on reading this weekend. Tell us what you’re reading in the comments.

I’m just finishing up The Innocent Wife by Amy Lloyd, a psychological thriller about a woman named Samantha who moves from England to America to marry a death row inmate. Soon after their wedding, Dennis is exonerated for a murder he didn’t commit and the two move in together. Dennis and Sam are confronted by community members who still feel that Dennis is responsible for other unsolved murders, and his new wife becomes suspicious of Dennis’ strange behavior as a free man. Lesson to be learned here: a first date that takes place in prison might be a red flag.
I feel like the story is slightly different from the Gone Girl / Women in the Window type books and would be enjoyed by fans of psychological thrillers. The storyline reminds me of the
murders that took place in the 90s.
I’ll also be starting Circe by Madeline Miller and listening to Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate.

The Book of Essie by Meghan MacLean Lear was my Friday read. Essie grew up in the spotlight’s glare as part of her evangelical family’s TV show, but she is seventeen and pregnant, and she wants out. There is a dark secret, a lost sister, and a reporter with a murky past of her own. It’s like the Duggars meets Lifetime Movie of the Week, but in an entertaining way.
Tommy Orange’s There There is getting a ton of buzz on the literary internet. It’s the story of twelve urban Indians (Native Americans) living in Oakland, California, who are attending the Big Oakland Powwow for very different reasons–some generous, some fearful, some joyful, some violent– and momentum builds toward a shocking yet inevitable conclusion that changes everything. It’s told in short chapters in alternating points of view, which is like

Oakland NJ, Borough of Oakland Police Department reports that between June 12th at 5pm and 730am June 13 the US Post Office collection boxes in front of the Oakland Post Office, 332 Ramapo Valley Road were broken into and all of the contents inside were stolen. The US Postal Inspector & Oakland Police Department are working together to investigate the thefts. If you placed any mail into any Oakland collection boxes immediately prior to these thefts and the contents were payments made by check, we advise you to cancel the checks and report this theft to the US Postal Inspection Service with any documentation supporting the incident. If the checks were already cashed, follow up with the individual or company the check was written to in order to be sure they actually received the payment and not the offender(s) involved in the thefts. If any personal information (date of birth, social security number, driver’s license number, etc.) was included, we encourage residents to respond to their local police department to file an identity theft report and to monitor all accounts and credit bureaus. We want to remind everyone the Oakland post Office does have drop boxes in their building which we recommend you use in the future.

This email which also states it comes from the Oakland Tax Assessor is not real and was not sent from the Borough Of Oakland. Do not pay this as it is a scam!!! See the below sample of this email:

Ridgewood NJ, of the City of Hackensack, NJ TRANSIT bus service in that city will have slight adjustments to bus routes and/or stops which take place effective April 7.
All NJ TRANSIT bus service will be moved off of Main Street between Court and Passaic streets and will no longer operate through that area. These changes are the result of the City of Hackensack’s implementation of the next phase of their Main Street streetscape and redevelopment project.
Certain NJ TRANSIT bus routes will see some adjustments to their routes in Hackensack as the city makes improvements to enhance pedestrian safety and improve traffic flow. Customers who normally board their bus along Main Street will now board their bus along State or River streets.
The bus routes that will have slight adjustments are: 83 (to Jersey City), 165 (to Westwood), 168 (to New York and to Paramus), 751/755 (to Paramus), 752/770 (to Ridgewood/Oakland/Paterson), 753 (to New Milford/Cresskill and to Paramus), 762 (to Paramus), 772 (to Meadowlands and to Paramus) and 780 to Passaic and to Englewood). The 76 and 712 bus routes will have slight changes to a few bus stops.
Northbound bus service currently operating along Main Street will be relocated to State Street and River Street.
The trip destination signs seen on the front of the bus will not be affected.
Fares and the frequency of service will not change.
Customers are encouraged to sign up for My Transit Alerts, which provide customized notifications via email or text messages based on a customer’s preferences. My Transit alerts can be accessed by creating a free account on njtransit.com. Real-time bus arrival information is available through MyBus, using the five-digit code at the bus stop.
A “Hackensack’s Main Street’’ brochure, which highlights individual route and bus stop locations, is available in printed form and for viewing at njtransit.com.
