US Department of Transportation Issues National Emergency Declaration for Commercial Vehicles Delivering Relief in Response to the Coronavirus Outbreak

Ridgewood NJ,  The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued a national emergency declaration to provide hours-of-service regulatory relief to commercial vehicle drivers transporting emergency relief in response to the nationwide coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This declaration is the first time FMCSA has issued nation-wide relief and follows President Trump issuing of a national emergency declaration in response to the virus.

Updated Timeline for Ridgewood’s New Master Plan

Ridgewood NJ, Prior to our lives changing significantly, we presented the Preliminary Draft of the Village of Ridgewood Master Plan – Section 1: Our Village, Our Future to the Planning Board on March 3 and to Council on March 4 (click here to view a streaming video of the Council meeting; Planning Board minutes forthcoming). Our next internal steps are to prepare the draft for publication to the website, create an online form for receiving comments, and post the draft for you to read.

Village of Ridgewood : Free Parking spaces in front of each restaurant will available for take-out orders only

Ridgewood NJ , Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon M Hache said on Facebook, “We are making several parking spaces in front of each restaurant available for take-out orders only, with no need to pay for parking. Temporary signs are being placed on the poles today, and more permanent signs will be posted within the next couple of days.”

The Ridgewood Police Department Suspends All Residential Zone Parking Restrictions

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Police Department is suspending all time limit and no parking during certain hour restrictions in residential zones to accommodate residents during the state of emergency in the Village. Therefore there will be no need to call the Police to request permission for daytime parking or Overnight parking in residential zones. All safety parking regulations are still in effect. Such as parked on crosswalks, yellow zones, fire hydrants, blocking driveways, ect. Parking meters are still in effect.

Trenton NJ,  New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Chief Administrator Sue Fulton has announced that all New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission agency and road testing facilities will be closed effective immediately as a measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We anticipate re-opening in two weeks, on Monday, March 30, 2020.

All driver licenses, non-driver IDs, vehicle registrations, and inspection stickers expiring before May 31 have been extended by two months.

Most renewals, replacements, changes of address, and other transactions can be processed online at NJMVC.gov
