Ridgewood Superintendent Comments on Swastika and Star of David Graffiti Found at Ridgewood High School

RHS_theridgewoodblog

December 4, 2018

Dear Ridgewood Public Schools Parents, Guardians and Staff:

On Monday evening I was informed by Ridgewood High School Principal Dr. Thomas Gorman that last night a swastika and Star of David graffiti were found on the school campus. These symbols were carved in a stall in the girls’ bathroom. The incident was immediately reported to the Ridgewood Police Department and is being investigated at this time.

This incident is highly shocking and disturbing. While it seems to follow a copycat pattern of recent instances of swastikas found on the campuses of other schools in our Bergen County area, in no way does the repeat nature of this episode at one of our schools diminish the egregious behavior of the person or persons who committed this act, nor the seriousness with which our police and my administration are approaching the investigation and follow-up.

Please know that incidents of this nature cannot, and will not, be tolerated in the Ridgewood Public Schools. Our district’s zero tolerance policy for actions of bias is equally important to our proactive mission of promoting a culture of wholeness and communal well-being in our schools. We work very hard in all of our schools, every day, to promote a climate of respect for the dignity of all human beings regardless of race, religion, or creed. We can take pride in the many programs we have in place to help with that goal. This incident reinforces the need for such programs and the determination to succeed all the more. In this case, I am proud to say that it was a student who discovered the graffiti — which was small in size and not easily visible — and reported it.

Perhaps you will find an opportunity for family dialogue on this topic, including the importance of standing up for zero tolerance. I encourage you to speak with your children and to reach out to your school principal or to me with any specific areas of concern.

I will continue to share with you any relevant update from the Ridgewood Police Department as I am able, within the normal constraints of the investigation and privacy laws.

Sincerely yours,

Daniel Fishbein, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

Washington DC, New Jersey school kids got a lesson in presidential security when three classmates who were visiting from other countries were barred from joining a White House tour.
A group of seventh-graders from Henry Hudson Regional School in Highlands braved a snowstorm on Nov. 15 for a long-awaited bus trip to Washington DC. Bad weather forced the cancelation of most of their trip including lunch on the White House lawn leaving only a visit to the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Reader says , “This is a HUGE embarrassment for Ridgewood taxpayers”

pemerintah telah blokir 800000 website 90 persennya situs porno1

Someone’s head should roll for this major screw up by the BOE’s IT department, but we know from past experience with similar boondoggles by municipal government entities (e.g., the theft of over 3/4 million dollars worth of parking utility revenue), that NO ONE WILL EVEN BE DISCIPLINED, let alone fired.
This is a HUGE embarrassment for Ridgewood taxpayers and the Ridgewood Public School System. Property values are certain to take a hit from this.
Voters should take note of the names of Board members who were on duty when this occurred (Ms. Brogan, Ms. Krauss, Mr. Morgan, and Ms. Smith-Wilson) and vote them out when their respective seats are up for grabs.

Bill gates

The protection is to educate kids like Einstein etc were educated throughout the centuries with books and paper and pencils. Bill Gates is VERY SMART. He knows that people are sheep and stupid. So he made billions. BUT his kids learn like Einstein etc. with books paper and pencils. No chrome where his kids go to school. Ha ha Keep buyin the next computer folks and smart phones and be sure to give them to your kids. Don’t worry. They are not addictive. Bill Gates said so. So did Mark Zuckerberg. Good guys.

Re: “The problem is the pop up sites that sometimes are pornographic and violent. “
.
I work on computers every day for most of the day and also spend the usual computer/device time when not working.
I DO NOT get pornographic pop-ups.

If you are getting pornographic pop-ups it is because you have been visiting pornographic websites.
The ad software analyzes your browsing history and sites visited and serves you up ads that “might be of interest” to you based on your history.
