The debt forgiveness website, which was first released by the administration for beta testing on Friday, features what officials have argued is a relatively simple application process. President Biden announced his plan for student loan debt relief in August forgiving $10,000 in student loan debt for those making under $125,000 annually and $20,000 for Pell grant recipients.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Duffield STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Initiative on Saturday, October 8, 2022. The School Transition & Employment Program for Student Success (STEPSS) hosted a well-attended Open House on Friday, October 14, 2022. The district plans to continue to host on-site paraprofessional job fairs. The late start committee meetings will get underway to develop a plan to submit to the Board. New Jersey has some new mental health grants, and the district is exploring opportunities for new mental health initiatives.

Out of the approximately 1.5 million students who took the PSAT exam last year, nearly 16,000 semifinalists were named nationally. Ridgewood NJ, Nereid Boat Club and Passaic River Rowing Association co-sponsored the Head of the Passaic River Regatta (HOPR) this weekend, a growing headrace located in Northern New Jersey on the tidal waters of the Passaic River. Conveniently located just 12 miles from New York City, the regatta attracts rowers from the tri-state area and beyond. The ~ 2.5 mile course passes through sections of Belleville, Clifton, Lyndhurst, and Nutley. The start is just half a mile downstream from the Nereid Boat Club, and the finish is roughly 1.5 miles downstream from the Passaic River Rowing Association. The course is challenging with two bridges, turns and tidal current.
