Ridgewood NJ, It was band camp week at Camp Timberlake! The RHS Marching Band is hard at work learning this year’s show and having a great time. The RHS Band Program is celebrating its 100th year, which inspired this special show! Stay tuned for opportunities to see the show this fall!  The RHS Marching Band is warped up a great week of camp! Ridgewood High School – Team I.C.E. Takes First Place in the STEAM Tank Challenge

New Jersey School Boards Association is proud to announce this year’s virtual STEAM Tank Challenge top finishing teams

Ridgewood NJ, this year, 112 STEAM Tank teams made it to the virtual STEAM Tank final presentations held in May. Over 1,500 students pitched their creative and innovative ideas and solutions to judges who volunteered their time and provided critical feedback to help teams along their STEAM Tank journey.

In the ad, which as one Twitter user pointed out is currently airing, parents concerned about curriculum materials in classrooms are labeled as “extremists” attacking New Jersey schools to score political points. Republicans in the state reacted fiercely to the ad, slamming the union for demonizing parents.

President Biden Cancels up to $10,000 in Student Loan Debt per Federal Borrower Earning less than $125,000 Annually

Ridgewood N J, President Biden officially announced on Wednesday that his administration is forgiving up to $10,000 in student loan debt for borrowers making less than $125,000 annually and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, marking the largest forgiveness of federal student loans per individual to date. In addition to forgiving up to $20,000 in student debt for Pell recipients, will also cancel up to $10,000 in student loans for individuals making less than $125,000 a year,

Players are calling upon Ridgewood residents and businesses asking for orders during that time. Delivery of the plants will take place the weekend of September 24. This plant sale is the biggest fundraiser of the year and literally keeps our athletes on the ice! Please consider saying “Yes”, if a player calls on you.

New Jersey Lifts Routine COVID-19 Testing Requirements for School Districts, Child Care Settings, and State Contractors

Ridgewood NJ, following recent updates to COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in advance of the upcoming school year, Governor Phil Murphy today signed an executive order lifting the requirement that school districts, child care settings, and state contractors maintain a policy requiring their unvaccinated workers undergo routine testing. The change will apply to school districts and child care settings immediately, and to state contractors as of September 1, 2022.

Student excuses for late assignments are becoming more creative, designed to elicit sympathy and guilt, but faculty excuses are equally deplorable.

Nobody believes the old stand-by excuse that “my dog ate my homework” anymore. It’s doubtful anyone ever took that excuse seriously. Student excuses are, however, becoming more creative and some may be true. Increasingly, student excuses are designed to elicit sympathy and may even play to the instructor’s guilt: “I had to miss class to attend a job interview and without that job, I can’t pay my tuition.” But as one professor lamented, “Is it our job to verify student excuses?”
