New Jersey State Police and NJ Attorney General’s Office Join Forces to Respond to the Rapid Raise in Auto Thefts State Wide

Trenton NJ, Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Patrick J. Callahan today warned residents about a serious spike in motor vehicle thefts across the state, while noting that stolen vehicles are frequently used to commit other violent crimes. To address this growing concern, the New Jersey State Police and Division of Criminal Justice are expanding the Auto Theft Task Force by adding additional detectives and prosecutors, as well as bringing on board additional police departments from around the state.

Assembly Debates “Self Serve Gas” in New Jersey

Trenton NJ,  Legislation sponsored by Assembly members Carol Murphy, Ned Thomson and Annette Chaparro was introduced Monday allowing for a hybrid fueling model in New Jersey.

The “Motorist Fueling Choice and Convenience Act” would allow gas stations the option of offering self-serve, while still requiring stations with more than four dispensers to continue to offer full-service gas pumps, giving consumers the option to pump their own gas if they wish.

Trenton NJ, New Jersey Legislative Apportionment Commission finalized a deal for a redistricting  map for the next decade, acknowledging some hits a few longtime incumbents will suffer, but referring to core virtues attained in a civil bipartisan outcome: a history-making completely bipartisan product. The commission claims that unlike past redistricting , no single side – Republican or Democrat – could claim total victory, or hang heads in complete defeat.
