Rite Aid Significantly Expands COVID-19 Testing

Waldwick NJ, Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) will significantly expand its COVID-19 testing effort with the addition of 46 no-charge testing sites, most of which will operate through its stores’ drive-through windows, beginning May 11, 2020. Rite Aid is also expanding COVID-19 testing criteria at all testing sites to include adults who are not exhibiting any symptoms of the virus, effective immediately in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.

National Art Honor Society Inductees Welcomed at Virtual Ceremony

Demarest NJ,  Outstanding student artists from the Academy of the Holy Angels were inducted into the National Art Honor Society at a virtual ceremony held on April 23. AHA art teacher Kathryn Biskup created a PowerPoint presentation to facilitate the online event.

Established by the National Art Education Association in 1978, the NAHS welcomes high school students who demonstrate a high level of scholarship in art and academics. NAHS also promotes good character, art education within and outside the halls of AHA, and service projects such as organizing the Academy’s art shows.

Washington Township Police Department is Reporting a Bear Sighting

Twp of Washington NJ,  the Washington Township Police Department  is reporting a black bear has been sighted in Washington Township in the vicinity of Van Emburgh Avenue. Be alert and exercise caution if you leave your residence. (Not actual picture of the bear!)

Bear sightings are also being reported by residents of the Salem Ridge neighborhood, in Ridgewood , please use  caution as a black bear is reported to be wandering areas near the Paramus and Washington Township borders.

Ho-Ho- Kus NJ , Yesterday at approximately 12:00 the Ho-Ho- Kus Fire Department was alerted to a home on Spruce Place for a report of smoke emanating from the first floor of the residence.
Initial reports from Police and Fire units confirmed a heavy smoke condition in the basement.

East Rutherford NJ , Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DAVID GARRIDO (DOB: 05/07/1953; single; self-employed) of 351 West 46th Street, Apt 2S, New York, New York, on the charge of Murder.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the North Jersey Regional Cold Case Task Force under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the New York Police Department under the direction of Police Commissioner Dermot F. Shea and Chief Terence Monahan.
