Washington DC,  Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas issued a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin regarding the continued heightened threat environment across the United States. This is the sixth NTAS Bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) since January 2021 and it replaces the current Bulletin that was set to expire at 2:00 PM ET today.

Nonfarm Payroll Employment rose by 390,000 in May with Labor Force Participation Rate, Little Changed at 62.3 percent

Washington DC, total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 390,000 in May, and the unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Notable job gains occurred in leisure and hospitality, in professional and business services, and in transportation and warehousing. Employment in retail trade declined.

New Census Numbers Indicate Texas, Tenn., And Florida were Short Changed on Additional Congressional Seats

Washington DC,  US Census Bureau now admits the the 2020 Census was based on annual Census estimates from 2011 to 2020 .The new decennial Census count and subsequent reapportionment misrepresented three “red states” with big population gains: Florida, Tennessee, and Texas while the population count appeared to come in way too high in blue states like Rhode Island and New York.

Washington DC, at lest Mussini made the trains run on time and speaking of energy policy , on the website Climatedepot.com, Marc Morano has produced this chart showing energy predictions from the U.S. Department of Energy and the actual events. Over the decade from 2010-19 U.S. oil output reached double its predicted level. (Obama predicted we would soon drill for the last barrel of oil in North America.) No one in government saw the shale oil and gas revolution coming.

Washington DC, The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.3 percent in April on a seasonally adjusted basis after rising 1.2 percent in March, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 8.3 percent before seasonal adjustment. Increases in the indexes for shelter, food, airline fares, and new vehicles were the largest contributors to the seasonally adjusted all items increase.

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) the U.S. GDP shrank at an annualized rate of 1.4 percent during the first three months of 2022, according to the BEA’s first estimate of first-quarter economic growth. Economists expected U.S. GDP to have fallen by an annualized rate of 1 percent. Marking an abrupt reversal for an economy coming off its best performance since 1984.

Notable job gains continued in leisure and hospitality, professional and business services, retail trade, and manufacturing. Household Survey Data The unemployment rate declined by 0.2 percentage point to 3.6 percent in March, and the number of unemployed persons decreased by 318,000 to 6.0 million.
