Give Chances has operated DDartists (artists with developmental disabilities) art exhibition from April 28th – 30th. It has been visited by over 100 guests over the past 3 days. Our writers, artists, and families were filled with happiness and joy. When we recall how many of our DDartists were nervous and reluctant to meet people, we are grateful for the turn out of the event. All of our artists were greeted by visitors with a smile and they were able to explain their artwork in detail while receiving comments of encouragement and praise. We were able to see our artists build confidence and self esteem through this exhibit.
Through this wonderful opportunity, we hope that the community’s awareness of people with developmental disabilities will develop slightly more than before, and hope that it is an opportunity for all members of the society to join together in a more inclusive aspect. Thanks to the genuine smiles and encouraging words from our visitors, our exhibit became a space and time for healing and gratuity for everyone involved in the process. We are sincerely grateful for all of our visitors, all of our beautifully talented artists and all of our staff members who put in their time, effort, and heart.
