Ridgewood NJ, and the attacks on the police department continue ,from the Ridgewood blog , “The Local Finance Board offered the very same refutation that has been stated on this blog many times in the form of a dismissal .On the first complaint it was not their jurisdiction it was a civil service matter and on the second Delzio complaint ,there is no factual basis!”

The anti mayor group will not stop at anything looking to undermine the Ridgewood Police …..

“I don’t know who Don Delzio is nor part of baseball, softball or anything else. I have lived in village for over 25 years, pay app 50k in property/school taxes and read and watch the meeting minutes etc. i have no agenda other then getting the best value for my tax money. The mayors actions as related to voting on any item should that could effect the police hiring status , ie residency, degrees, etc is downright wrong with interests of her on the list. It is unfair to the taxpayers as well as the other well respected police officers. All should go back and check the school board meeting when the mayor argued hard for extra help for her children. That these same people can now be found ready to be a police officer is concerning. Why isn’t their some college requirement? Why would we want a residency requirement ? The village is not that complex that local knowledge overshadows. Makes no sense.
We should get the best of the best for such an important job that will cost the village millions.
Through any clear lens the hiring of three of the mayors children, who couldn’t complete RW schools in a normal curriculum, and who had the Mayor argue for required residency has to be looked at as morally and perhaps crimally wrong.
RW has to start pushing back hard”

  1. Mayor and her crew stop bring the police into this. Stand on your own merits

  2. I have a question. When the mayor recuses herself from a subject we know she doesn’t vote on that matter. Does she also excuse herself from meetings and conversations in working groups that are going on relative to that subject? Ethics would dictate that she should. Ethics would dictate that she would would not WANT to be in the room so she could avoid even the appearance of participating. What motivation would she have to stay and hear what’s being discussed? What motivation would she have to influence the dialogue in a matter she can’t vote on?

    1. you mean like Aronsohn and Puci who used to threaten people call them names and attack their business ?

  3. This is not the police department this is political

  4. 11:56am are you serious? I posted on the blog in support of the mayor and the police after reading the attacks on the police department. I’m not a member of the mayors so called crew and find your comment is offensive. 11:56 go back and read the posts. Why on heaven’s earth would the mayor or her supports bring the police into the conversation. The discussion of police stems from a complaint by Dan delzino that was dismissed by an ethics department. If the ethics violation was dismissed  why did mr. Delzino take to the Ridgewood blog to anonymously attack the woman and the police.

I support mayor knudsen and do so without being part your fantasy crew. More like mr. Delzino has a crew attacking the mayor and police.
6:21pm you are right and delzino and his crew should stop.

  5. 3:11pm anyone recusing doesn’t participate in discussion. If you pay attention you would see. Knudsen appears tofollow procedure.

  6. Let’s not forget aronsohn sleezeball calling someone’s employer to influence an election. Everyone knows it was aronsohn. Best part is aronsohn and sonemfeld contacting the prosecutors office and newspaper to investigate who called sedons employer. Holy malarkey. What a sham.

  7. I don’t care if you hire the mayors entire family just keep Aronsohn and his folk out. I like Ridgewood the way it is and not my tax dollars paying for business’s success ( healthbarn) and apartment buildings and garages for their personal success. #leaveridgewoodalone

  8. Becoming a police officer is not the equivalent of being a political appointee. Anyone who aces the tests and passes muster through the rigorous processes at the academy is more than qualified. Also it is not unusual to have multiple generations of a family serve in the police or fire departments. Don’t see any smoke here.
