Trenton NJ, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), spearheaded by Elon Musk, has sent shockwaves through Washington, exposing wasteful government spending and igniting a public outcry for greater transparency. As the federal government’s savings from DOGE efforts cross into the billions, the movement is gaining traction at the state level—including a push for a New Jersey version of DOGE.
The Startling Findings of DOGE
The federal government’s spending has long been criticized for its lack of accountability, but DOGE has laid bare some of the most questionable expenditures yet. Among the eye-opening revelations:
- 💰 $50 million for condoms sent to Gaza
- 🏨 $59 million for luxury hotels for illegal immigrants
- 🎭 $70,000 for a DEI-themed musical in Ireland
- 🎼 $47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
- 🎨 $32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru
- 🚗 $2.5 million for electric vehicles in Vietnam
- 🏳️🌈 $2 million for LGBT activism in Guatemala
These are just the tip of the iceberg, leaving taxpayers outraged and fueling calls for similar transparency efforts at the state level.
The Case for a New Jersey DOGE
The success of federal DOGE has spurred New Jersey lawmakers to propose a state-level version aimed at uncovering wasteful spending and improving government accountability. State Senator Mike Testa and Assemblywoman Vicky Flynn are co-sponsoring legislation introduced by Assemblymen Chris DePhillips and Alex Sauickie to establish a New Jersey Department of Government Efficiency.
What Could a New Jersey DOGE Uncover?
New Jersey has a long history of wasteful government spending, and a state-level DOGE could shine a much-needed light on:
🔹 Rutgers University’s $19 million DEI spending – while many universities nationwide are cutting back on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, New Jersey’s state-funded institutions continue these programs without review.
🔹 $440,000 spent on DoorDash by the Rutgers football team – this staggering food bill was not a line item in the budget but rather spread across multiple accounts, making it difficult to track.
🔹 New Jersey Transit’s spending habits – despite ongoing delays, service failures, and equipment breakdowns, NJ Transit recently purchased a costly new headquarters instead of prioritizing service improvements.
🔹 The NJ Department of Education’s massive workforce – with over 1,000 employees, taxpayers deserve an independent audit to ensure efficiency and eliminate redundant roles.
A Call for Accountability
New Jersey taxpayers are fed up with government profligacy at all levels. Establishing a state DOGE would not only eliminate wasteful spending but also restore public trust in government. The federal model has proven that rapid savings are possible—now it’s time for New Jersey to follow suit.

That’s the same thing should be done in the Village Of Ridgewood, we are witnessed individuals just driving around, with warm weather this week or February. We are very lucky, no excuse there’s work that needs to be done fill potholes, clean vehicles, clean, ditches, we could imagine how many catch basins are full of leaves and debris that need to be cleaned out. With the taxpayers demand service.
How in your right mind could you be against this?
Let’s get DEI and Transgender Indoctrination out of the schools.
Let’s kick some ass!
Yea sweep under the train trestle curb line, litter and leaves, still there from the fall
Totally agree how come the sweeper is not sweeping both sides of the curb line underneath the trestle in Ridgewood what the hell is going on there lighter, leaves, we noticed this all weekend. Ridiculous, isn’t the sweeper going out? I don’t know who’s operating these sweepers but in the past few years or so It’s just not the same. Do we have new employees that exactly don’t know what to do or are they being misinformed by somebody? Unacceptable, you know what I think it’s time for rotation throughout the sweeping crew
What is going on who is in charge? This is embarrassing for the village. We need some leadership, with the taxpayers demand. The village needs to keep on top of their maintenance. The roads are filthy, catch, basins all through the town of full leaves, this town is not being run like years ago. The village manager needs to get involved on a day-to-day operations.🧑🏼🦲
So when are they removing the toxic soil at the wet side of the road park?
