Ridgewood NJ, the National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Bergen County .
FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 AM EST THIS MORNING.
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following
county, Fairfield, northeast New Jersey, including the following
counties, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union, and southeast
New York, including the following counties, Bronx, Kings
(Brooklyn), Nassau, New York (Manhattan), Queens, Richmond (Staten
Island), Rockland and Westchester.
* WHEN…Until 715 AM EST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 522 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Yonkers, Paterson, Elizabeth,
Stamford, Flatbush, New Rochelle, Flushing, Passaic, Bayonne,
White Plains, Wayne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Plainfield,
Bloomfield, East Tremont and Hackensack.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
