Glen Rock NJ, With our continued focus on improving safety and security, a team comprised of emergency personnel, school officials, and Borough officials has come together with the goal of optimizing radio reception within school buildings. Several communication security vendors were brought in to assess the current situation and recommend any potential improvements.
After a number of meetings, which included the necessary engineering requirements, we are ready to move into the next phase of our plan, which will include the selection of one communication security vendor and the actual work that will optimize our radio communications.
While it is imperative that all details relating to any security plan be kept confidential, we are proud of the cooperative effort between our Radio Task Force comprised of Office of Emergency Management members Sergeant Greg Carter and Glen Rock Fire Department Chief Tom Jennings, Superintendent Bruce Watson, the Board of Education, the school security team, Mayor Bruce Packer and the Borough Council.
More details will be discussed at a joint public meeting between the Board of Ed and the Borough Council at a future date to be determined.
As a group we will accept nothing less than a proper and effective resolution brought about in a timely manner. There is nothing more important to all involved in this effort than the safety of our children.
