Ridgewood NJ, in their latest campaign pitch , the Willett and Harwin camp have accused Village of Ridgewood Mayor Susan Knudsen and deputy Mayor Mike Sedon of being NAZI sympathizers for among other things posing with the Easter Bunny , planting flags with American Legion Post 53 at Valleau Cemetery for forgotten veterans ,and thanking all those who helped with the Memorial Day Service and Remembers the Fallen military hero’s, on this blog.
While the Willett and Harwin campaign have already been outed for being anti Catholic ,undermining the police and fire department you can now add hating the Easter Bunny and denigrating the US Armed Services and its veterans to the list.
In the mailing the Ridgewood blog was called a “right wing blog “, who dared to state the obvious that using children to make cheap political points is a bit reminiscent of “Hitler Youth” , sorry folks it is what it is.
Still no word from Harwin and Willett denouncing the bigoted Hans Lehmann letter or explaining their position on the anti minority ,white only LGBT flag that they attempted to pressure the council into hosting over Village Hall?
The entire mailing fails to understand how the Ridgewood blog functions and how news is disseminated on this site .
If you vote for Harwin and Willett, you get what you deserve…
This is the type of vitriol you will get daily when you vote in a divisive Civil Rights attorney to a local politics post.

The upper left corner return address of today’s mailing says “Paid for by Harwin for Council” and gives her home address. If anyone is thinking/hoping it was sent by a misguided supporter such as Halaby or Lehmann without the candidate’s knowledge or against her wishes, think again.
It’s gross how she’s literally sold her religion down the river for this to what end??
I have NEVER thought less of a new neighbor than I do of Harwin. In what way does this person move to town so recently, spew her venom and act as if she has any historical ability to back it up other than being told by Paul araonsohn.
She’s in to to win ANY electret position. It’s taught to her in that Democrat class she took. She’s dividing the town via religion and via political party. She is a disaster and I hope she moves

This is STUPID nonsense that only serves to turn people away from public service and exhaust and insult the intelligence of the people of this community. And this blog only fans the flames. It’s not the candidates that are behind these distortions, it’s the hostile little-brained big mouths that think they can sway the rest of us. All of the candidates are good people…I know them all because I get out in the community and meet and work with them. Knudsen is a devoted and active member of this village who is engaged and present in numerous events in the village; Mike is a caring and sensitive father with interests in making the village the best it can be; Janice is a hard-working participant in the community with laser focus on the needs of the village; Alexandra is incredibly kind, whip-smart and wants to bring the village together to work toward common goals. These are GOOD PEOPLE. Stop feeding the frenzy by releasing this crap and hoping people fall in line on one side or another. James, you are quite guilty of these tactics. It’s the fear-mongers and Chicken Littles like you that make the community morale erode. You are adopting the fever pitch tone of national politics and poisoning us all at a local level and we ARE SICK OF IT. I”m sick of the name-calling hotheads who have nothing better to do than sit behind their computer or phone stroking their buttons all day. Give your thumbs a rest and give us some space to think for ourselves! You humorless grinds are not up to the level of authority or even have anything interesting to say. Susan and Mike are going to win, so shut up. Just open your eyes and see the multitude of lawn signs for Knudsen and Sedon around town–and know the voters can make their own decisions by listening to candidates talk and voting with sober information and their own gut. We do not benefit from sky-falling blowhards mouthing off on blogs and in our mailboxes. After this is all over, you should take a vacation and ask yourself what purpose you serve. Your blog is one of the culprits for this toxicity. Get a life and please volunteer in town if you really care about it.

I’m sure they have. Or they’re too busy attending meetings, running the town and working on re election so they can continue to serv us as they have. Who knows. I know this Harwin girl has been here about a year and she’s proven to have no clue what it means to be a community member, or neighbor. I also seriously question how she can stay here when this is over. Personally, I think she’s gross.

I’m appalled that people read propaganda with no understanding of the original source or intent. Do you understand what propaganda is designed to do? It counts on the ignorance of people to villainze others in order to elevate one’s own virtue. Don’t react with outrage, learn more about the candidates on your own–there are resources available to you. I’m amazed how many people just buy what they read without further investigation. There’s really no excuse for it, unless your very young and don’t know any better. Geezus people!

The less than 1/4 of today’s hate-card that mentions its sender (the remainder knocking her opponents) says:

“…Alexandra will: Disengage Village leadership from abusive online forums.” Ms. Harwin, has Councilman Jeff Voigt, who wrote one of the two letters supporting you in today’s Ridgewood News, promised to stop his incessant Facebook-ing and blogging (including on this blog) that denigrates those with whom he disagrees? And what makes you think you can decide what council members may do?

“This isn’t what Ridgewood stands for” would be a good title for this entire mailer. Equality, fairness, inclusion? Not evident here.

Harwin is portraying Ridgewood as some sort of hostile community in which people are marginalized for being jewish, gay, black, etc. This is completely untrue and horribly inflammatory. I am a minority, my skin is DARK. No one bothers me, no one ever has, no one bothered my kids, this is a wonderful community filled with educated easy going people. Harwin thinks she needs to save us from inequality what a crock of shit. She is trying to make trouble where none exists.
Ridgewood has had controversial elections before but what is being produced by a candidate who hasn’t lived here long enough to know anything about Ridgewood is absolutely nothing but scandalous, probably illegal, libel. I actually feel sorry for her husband and the members of his Temple. I am sure they, or most of them, are as embarrassed by having to witness this behavior as I am. I am normally in favor of letting every person have their say, but this is so indescribable that I can definitely see some limitations should be placed on free speech when it consists of nothing but libel and scandalous statements created only out of the mind of one person when no fact is behind them. There is no way that an Easter Bunny or placing flags on graves can be considered evil behavior. I do believe that Alexandra misunderstood her political classes or transformed what they said to the evil her mind has become.
My last kid graduates HS in a couple more months. Adios Ridgewood.

All my friends who don’t have a sign in the yard have been made aware of this nonsense that I can help. This is EXACTLY what everyone is tired of. Locally and nationally. The use of guilt by association is stunning. The mayor has posted on this blog. Some other people have posted truly vicious and bigoted statements on this blog. The poster shown wants people to connect those two unrelated postings. If the Mayor has posted any of the despicable statements, then she would be fair game, but that is not the case. Many of those nasty and provocative posts appear above the name “James” while suggesting they were posted by someone else without any attribution. I understand that James likes to stir the pot, but such approaches seem a step too far.
Really? Someone here saying guilt by association is an unacceptable tactic? That’s rich.
Actually I think the photos of E. Bunny and Veterans Day were pulled off Knudsen’s Facebook page, not submitted directly to the blog.
It’s probably fair to say that 99.99% of the readers of this blog were disgusted by the post in question (the worst ever posted here). It should not have run and if it’s still there it should be removed. Not every newspaper, website, and social media outlet needs to aspire to be the National Enquirer even though The Record and The Ridgewood News are getting there fast.
