Getting the Village of Ridgewood Ready for the 4th of July Festivities!

Parking fees were collected in Ridgewood via ParkMobile on Juneteenth Federal Holiday

Ridgewood NJ, Parking fees were collected in Ridgewood via ParkMobile on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, a recognized Federal holiday. Juneteenth is the only recognized Federal holiday not noted as a “free parking day” in Village Code Section 265-1, B, Holidays.

Alarming Graffiti Found in Ridgewood’s Central Business District

Ridgewood Nj, according to the Ridgewood Police the individual responsible for placing this graffiti on several benches within Ridgewood’s Central Business District has reportedly been identified by the Ridgewood Police Department.  Further information regarding this matter may be publicly released by the police department at a later date.

Small Business Uncertainty Spikes in Latest National Federation of Independent Business Poll

TRENTON NJ,  at first glance not much has changed in the latest monthly poll of the nation’s small business owners published by their leading advocacy association, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). Inflation remains the top concern, but one component, the Uncertainty Index, rose an alarming nine points to 85, the highest reading since November 2020.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Makes its Way Through Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics came through town today and, as always, the Ridgewood Police Department members were excited to join. Sgt. Anthony Mormino, Officer Hector Perez, Officer Zack Knudnsen, and Parking Officer Ben Ritter represented us as the torch made it’s way through Ridgewood. The torch is carried 750 miles each year as a way to raise money for and show our support for the athletes of the NJ Special Olympics.

Ridgewood NJ, this week, the Village of Ridgewood  completed the long awaited road resurfacing downtown. Chestnut Street, Cottage Place, North Walnut Street, South Walnut Street, Dayton Street, Oak Street and Chestnut Street were all milled and paved in the Central business district.

Ridgewood Village’s New Park: A Troubling Tale of Eminent Domain and Unmet Promises

Ridgewood NJ, in August 2021, the Ridgewood Village Council unveiled a proposal during a Public Work Session to acquire the former Town Garage property on Franklin Avenue via eminent domain. The council’s vision was to transform this site, located near South Walnut Street, into a pocket park—a green space for community enjoyment rather than a parking lot.
