Readers think It’s a Little late for “VISIONING “

305403068 83b1a488ae z1

This is bullshit and too little too late. They should have reached out to us before they started the digging all around CBD. The destiny for RW is on the wall regardless our feedback in this phony “survey”. They have their own image in mind, all of them including this and past VCs and they will implement that. I hate this hypocrisy. They know it is too late, many people have given up fighting and the majority of residents does not care (only 400 people responded). It just makes them feel better……

Ridgewood NJ, do not forget to add your voice and vision to the future of the Village of Ridgewood at: www.visionridgewood.org

Many local organizations and special interests have been attempting to push their agenda and influence the planning process . Last night Deputy Mayor Knudsen asked residents , ” to use their own common sense , take the survey, don’t be influenced by any special interest groups ,this is a plan for the future of the Village of Ridgewood , its really important that we don’t allow any process to be tainted ”

What should the Village be like in 5, 10, or 20 years? What trends do you think might have a significant impact on the Village in the future? What is your vision for the future of the Village?

Reader asks ,”So did Tommy “coin boy” Rica ever even pay the Village back the $230,000 he’d agreed to as part of his plea conviction in 2014?”

pile-us-quarters-19060569

So did Tommy “coin boy” Rica ever even pay the Village back the $230,000 he’d agreed to as part of his plea conviction in 2014? The forensic accountant said more like $850,000 was stolen, so where is the other $620,000? And why weren’t his supervisor Chris Rutishsuser or the the cops who saw Tommy boy coming and going from the room in their part of the building with 50lb coin bags ever implicated? Was this mob related ? James, what is the update?

Reader says , “We have reached the pinacle of decades of mismanagement regime after regime”

clock

We have reached the pinacle of decades of mismanagement regime after regime.
Look behind the curtain..developers and other political
hacks have been driving the bus as far as Misprioritization
of the common Taxpapers needs vs the money people who see ridgewood as the new Englewood or Montclair with fields of condos and associated costs related to any fantasy transit village conversion, so that the realtors and developers can pick the towns assets clean down to the bone .Leaving the massive debt servicing to the home owner families with mortgages and kids in local Schools for years ahead
Realtors love the churn..developers love the chaos ..
Parking debt public obligation will be unsustainable ..but by then the developers will have sold to the REITS and moved on with
our futures in their greedy pockets ..Interest rate and taxation rising rates add more fuel to the fire ..ps pave cottage place parking lot…have you no shame VC .?

Reader says , “The garage loses about a million dollars a year for the life of the garage. Rate increases everywhere are not up for debate”

math-teen-banner

The garage loses about a million dollars a year for the life of the garage. Rate increases everywhere are not up for debate- they are the only way to come close to paying for the garage. Wait until the math wizards who voted ‘yes’ see that the garage rate will have to be lower than the street rate just to spur demand for the garage. This is just the start of the self imposed retail implosion from liberals, wait until they get the minimum wage hikes they want. What do you think $15/hr does to the CBD where the stores are tiny and the required revenue per square foot is already sky high to pay the rent? A rent that the village council wants to nearly double which was the whole reason to build the garage, increase the tax haul from the CBD. Only the ‘no’ voters did the math.

Reader says , “Meter rates will be too high, the majority of retail businesses in town will suffer “

parkmobile_meter

Everyone should be focused on the rates required in the future to pay the debt service on the garage. Meter rates will be too high, the majority of retail businesses in town will suffer only a few nearby restaurants will benefit. A pending fiscal disaster, being backstopped by residents.
The 2-1 YES vote did not sufficiently outline the costs of the garage. The NO voters likely considered the costs. The majority of the YES voters thought it was “free”, of would be totally self sustaining.
