Middletown NJ,  Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger (R-Monmouth) strongly agrees with Dr. Anthony Fauci when he said during an interview with Governor Phil Murphy yesterday that New Jersey can and should continue to reopen:

“It was great to hear from Dr. Fauci and I couldn’t agree more, New Jersey should continue to reopen as soon as possible so let’s start now,” Scharfenberger commented. “In fact, I am even more confident that we should begin to ease restrictions immediately so businesses can get back to operating safely, at full strength.”

Governor Murphy Extends the Public Health Emergency, Senator Testa Urges ,time to end the Perpetual Emergency and Power Grab

TRENTON NJ,  Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 186. The Order extends the Public Health Emergency that was declared on March 9, 2020 through Executive Order No. 103, which was previously extended on April 7, May 6, June 4, July 2, August 1, and August 27. Under the Emergency Health Powers Act, a declared public health emergency expires after 30 days unless renewed.

New Jersey’s Johnson & Johnson Launches Phase 3 trials for Potential Coronavirus Vaccine

NEW BRUNSWICK NJ,  Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) (the Company) today announced the launch of its large-scale, pivotal, multi-country Phase 3 trial (ENSEMBLE) for its COVID-19 vaccine candidate, JNJ-78436735, being developed by its Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies. The initiation of the ENSEMBLE trial follows positive interim results from the Company’s Phase 1/2a clinical study, which demonstrated that the safety profile and immunogenicity after a single vaccination were supportive of further development. These results have been submitted to medRxiv and are due to be published online imminently. Based on these results and following discussions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ENSEMBLE will enroll up to 60,000 volunteers across three continents and will study the safety and efficacy of a single vaccine dose versus placebo in preventing COVID-19.

Trenton NJ, Several bills up for committee votes today will make the proposed FY2021 budget revision go from bad to worse, the New Jersey Business & Industry Association testified today.

NJBIA Vice President of Government Affairs Christopher Emigholz told the Assembly and Senate Budget committees today that adding another $500 million in borrowing to the already unnecessary $4 billion in borrowing submitted by Gov. Phil Murphy is wholly irresponsible.

Rutgers University: NJ’s Slow Pace Economic Recovery

New Brunswick,  NJ,  New Jersey has regained nearly half of the jobs it lost due to the pandemic-driven economic contraction of March and April, but future employment gains will become increasingly difficult, according to a new Rutgers report.

“The United States and New Jersey have made substantial progress in climbing out of the economic chasm that opened beneath our feet in April. But the summer’s extraordinary job growth began to slow in August, with signs that labor market advances are losing momentum,” said report co-author James W. Hughes, University Professor and dean emeritus of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.

Ridgewood Nj, Graydon pool reported its 2020 COVID19 related results. In 2019 Graydon had 2316 registered members . In 2020 Graydon pool dropped to1529 registered members . However the Village Parks & Recreation day camp did not operate this summer due to COVID 19 concerns. Day camp participants are always required to obtain seasonal Graydon memberships.
