Englewood Cliffs NJ,  Emily Kim, an aspiring pediatric surgeon from Englewood Cliffs, is the Academy of the Holy Angels’ nominee for the Governor’s School of New Jersey Program in the Sciences. Kim is now preparing her formal application to the selection panel at Drew University. Selections will be announced in April.

Teen Hits Her Stride at National PGA Junior League Championship

Demarest NJ, Golfer Olivia Lee of Closter says that competing in the National PGA Junior League Championship with her team was the most amazing experience of her life.

“It was so much fun meeting people from all over the country, and I learned so much from my team and about myself as a person/player,” said Lee, a member of the Class of 2026 at the Academy of the Holy Angels. “It was also cool to really be able to bond with my teammates in a way that I hadn’t before.”

Demarest NJ,  Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is affecting citizens in many nations, including two Academy of the Holy Angels students who recognize that peace cannot wait. Nicole Yakubov and Alexis Mysliwiec, founders of AHA’s Slavic-Baltic Cultural Society, stepped up during International Week (February 28 through March 4), leading the school community in moving prayers for peace that were delivered in Ukrainian and English.

Demarest NJ, The Academy of Holy Angels community hosted a memorable Feast Day celebration in honor of the Academy’s 142nd anniversary. Bishop Michael Saporito presided at the October 1 Liturgy, where he commissioned several new Eucharistic Ministers. He also provided a special blessing for the new AHA Middle School, which opened to Grades 6-8 on September 10.
