Reader says Albano Supporters Continue their Campaign of Negativity

The letters to the editor in today’s Ridgewood News in support of Albano were interesting. A couple had nasty rants about a woman who was not even running and the others praised him for his service to youth sports.

If you are going to write in supoort of a candidate, stick to the subject. Writing negative comments about a resident does not make Albano look any better.

Keep it positive. I associate the negativity with your candidate.

There were lots of cards with questions and the league women pick out a handful to ask. So first knudson had to know the question would be selected and asked and then she had to know albano would lie so reynolds could come to the podium and ask albano to be clear on what hes saying and then knudson had to know albano would lie again. ah ha! i mean ah ha! you are probably fbi (fool bein ignorant)

Albano could have just told the truth. oh wait. no. he had to lie becuase that was the setup so reynolds could catch him in the lie. ah ha.

I don’t think anyone had to setup albano to make him look bad. he did a good job of that himself. knudson was the best last night of the three and sedon was next. i don’t think either of them had to participated in your big conspiracy.
how old is albano’s grandmother again?

Ms. Knudsen and Mr. Sedon clearly do care about the Village

Ms. Knudsen and Mr. Sedon clearly do care about the Village

Fifteen years in town, with three children going through the schools, is not a newbie. Ms. Knudsen is vice chair of the Zoning Board and active on many fronts. Mr. Sedon wrote about Ridgewood for the Ridgewood News, learning more about the issues than 95% of longtime residents.

Mr. Albano has been busy “in the fields” but almost never voted in municipal elections and didn’t attend any meetings. Length of residency alone does not make a person knowledgeable.

The current mayor had lived in town for only a few years before joining the council. The difference is that he has never cared about the town or comprehended what used to make it great. He simply saw it as a steppingstone and continues to use it as such. In contrast, Ms. Knudsen and Mr. Sedon clearly do care.

Race for two Ridgewood Council seats heats up

A standing-room only audience cramped into the Village Hall Court Room on Tuesday night, when the three candidates for Ridgewood Council debated publicly for the final time leading up to the May 13 municipal election.

Of the three candidates, Ridgewood’s electorate will be asked to select two to serve on the governing body for the next four years.

Candidates’ Night allowed Jim Albano, Susan Knudsen and Michael Sedon to answer specific questions raised by the event sponsor, the Ridgewood League of Women Voters (LWV), and address several unscripted inquiries from the public.

Similar to an event two weeks ago at the Ridgecrest Apartments, the candidates maintained cordial interaction with one another and the audience Tuesday night. Their focus differed, however, as each separated themselves and conveyed distinct messages.

Forum moderator Lucy Heller, who sits on the Northern Valley LWV, posed standard questions to the candidates, asking them for opinions on Ridgewood’s pressing issues: the Valley Hospital expansion plan, downtown housing proposals and Central Business District parking, among other topics.

Resident-submitted questions and issues, which were filtered by Heller, included the development of the former Schedler tract and future safeguarding of municipal funds, in light of the theft of $460,000 in parking meter coins. Several queries raised during an open public portion covered the candidates’ prior municipal voting history and time commitment and their stances on flooding concerns.

After Albano Stumble ,his Supporters take to Name Calling

Our Guess is these are the same people who sent the Anonymous Email to Mike Sedon’s boss

But it was obvious it was a set up ! All I’m saying is I’m sure ms Knudsen is not perfect ! She was in on it.

RIdgewood is now filed with a bunch of loony nouveau riche fleabags!!! And Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Knudsen lead the pack. Ms. Reynolds needs to get a life! I grew up in Ridgewood and it is not what it used to be. I made a conscious decision not to live in that town and raise my family because of the type of people that live there.
Anyone with half a brain could see last night that Mr. Albano was set up What does that say about Ms. Knudsen’s character ??

GREAT, no matter what happens we are going to get a newbie in town or possibly two on the council. One who has been here a whole 4 years or the other who has been here 15 years. Neither know the history of this town! This is a real recipe for success. NOT

If you ask me Knudsen came of condescending and arrogant. Didn’t she run for a spot on the BOE or was that her BFF Reynolds and didn’t get elected??? As far as Sedon, he looked like Knudsen’s lap dog….

Candidates for Ridgewood Council air views at forum

THE RECORD

RIDGEWOOD — Voters will select two new members to the Village Council in just two weeks, so they packed a forum to meet the three candidates hoping to earn their support.

It was standing room only in Village Hall for Tuesday’s event, which was organized and hosted by the League of Women Voters.

James Albano, Susan Knudsen and Michael Sedon aired their individual views on a variety of village issues, ranging from Ridgewood’s decades-long parking dearth to Valley Hospital’s proposed expansion.

“I believe the idea of a stacked parking deck [as part of the plans] is very troubling and concerning,” Knudsen said of Valley’s proposal to nearly double in size, providing 454 private rooms with 12-foot-high ceilings.

“It will forever change the charm and character of the neighborhood,” said Knudsen, vice chairwoman of Board of Adjustment, who has lived in Ridgewood for 15 years.

Knudsen said the village ordinance providing “interested parties” the freedom to request changes to Ridgewood’s master plan “must be repealed.”

Sedon, a freelance journalist who once worked at the Ridgewood News, said it “is not OK to ask too much of your neighbors and overburden them, and this expansion project is doing that.”

Sedon has lived in the village with his wife and three children since 2010.

Albano, who lives in the neighborhood surrounding Valley Hospital, said hospital and village officials “need to find common ground” on the proposal, but agreed the “neighbors’ concerns need to come first.”

Albano, a 42-year Ridgewood resident, serves as board president of the Ridgewood Baseball Softball Association.

Parking problems have persisted in Ridgewood since “there have been automobiles,” Sedon said, adding that he supports installing second tiers for parking above existing lots in Ridgewood rather than a large parking garage in town that “will concentrate all the cars, concentrate all the traffic, and create havoc.”

Knudsen also supports a “two-tier parking system,” but also advocated “reconfiguring existing parking to get more spots.”

Albano said he thinks a parking garage in the Central Business District would help keep downtown vibrant.

All three candidates placed an importance on stabilizing taxes while maintaining service levels, and agreed government should be both sensible and efficient.

All three also agreed that three high-density, multiple-unit housing projects before the Planning Board would negatively affect the village and fundamentally change Ridgewood’s character.

Tea Party Express backs Lonegan in CD3

Tea Party Express, which calls itself the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, today announced its endorsement of Steve Lonegan for the 3rd Congressional district.

Tea Party Express Executive Director Taylor Budowich said, “Steve Lonegan is exactly the kind of Constitutional conservative that will go to Washington D.C. and fight for what’s right. He is a proven conservative champion who will not back down in the face of President Obama’s liberal agenda.

“Throughout his career, Lonegan has proven his willingness to stand up to the establishment of both parties, and we are confident that he will do the same as a member of Congress,” Budowich added. “Above all else, Steve Lonegan is a fighter who will do everything he can to put an end to the Obama-Pelosi big government agenda of tax increases, crippling regulations and reckless spending. He has already demonstrated his strong appeal to voters in the 3rd Congressional District, which he carried in the recent Special U.S. Senate election, where the Tea Party Express was proud to endorse Lonegan.  We were victorious yesterday in the Special Congressional Election with outsider, Curt Clawson, and Lonegan will bring the same kind of energy and fresh approach that is needed in Washington.”

In a closely watched GOP Primary, Lonegan is vying against businessman Tom MacArthur to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-3).

Reader says These may be “middle school bullying tactics,” but the stakes are very high. Time to ferret out the perpetrator.

There currently is no investigation. That is the point. There should be an investigation, and it should uncover who sent the e-mail or who called the newspaper. Why wouldn’t the Council be jumping right on this? Then their names could be cleared of any suspicion and the real perpetrator could be identified.

So far the editor of the paper has refused to release the email message. Did it really exist or was it actually a phone call from our mayor?

The IP address can be tracked so the sender can be identified. If it’s anyone associated with the VOR then that person should be terminated. But I doubt it. Probably some loser with an axe to grind.

Our current crop of public officials have stooped to classic middle school bullying tactics to squash any opposition

Mike Sedon’s job threatened anonymous email

Our current crop of public officials have stooped to classic middle school bullying tactics to squash any opposition

Mr. Sedon decided to run for Council and look what that got him. The original post represents how more and more people feel. Look at how Mrs. Price and Valley’s attorney have treated taxpayers attempting to speak their mind. Look at how the Council majority treated Mrs. Walsh, Mr Richie and Mr Gabbert. Our current crop of public officials have stooped to classic middle school bullying tactics to squash anyone with a point of view that opposes their own.

Why would anyone with a point of view that threatens either Valley or our Council majority ever want to volunteer for anything in this town?

Readers suggest *criminal* interference with Mr. Sedon’s employment

the person that contacted Mr. Sedon’s employer has crossed the line and hopefully will be exposed through a governmental investigation. In my mind, the only person or people that would do that would be:
a) somebody that was running against Mr. Sedon
b) somebody that is afraid that Mr. Sedon wouldn’t support their issue (i.e Valley or downtown overdevelopment)

I think it was probably item b and possibly item a as well.

This blog is here to counteract the hot air coming out of the government (i.e. Arohnsohn and his self-serving pronouncements) and the corporate interests.

Therefore, comparing this blog’s purpose and the probably *criminal* interference with Mr. Sedon’s employment is like comparing apples and oranges.

Readers think Village Halls knows more than is saying about the Mike Sedon Email Incident

Timing of email and comments made on this blog by sources clearing set up to harass and hide someones identity suggest Village Hall could be implicated.
New politicians have a history of using this tactic .

“Was anything in this anonymous letter not true? I fail to share the outrage and as far as political dirty tricks go, this is pretty mild. I would suggest that Mr Sedon go on the offensive and show us he’s up for a fight…..I believe he is.”

Comments were posted by Mr Coward who is using proxy servers ” Hide My Ass! Free proxy node (IP address 67.159.5.242 )”Readers this

Contents of the letter sent to Mr. Sedon’s former employer have not been made public. Thus, how would anyone except the letter’s author, and selected members of management from Mr. Sedon’s former employer, know what was written. Any suggestion that the letter’s contents were truthful and mild must be coming from someone who wrote it or read it.

Ridgewood council candidates running for two open seats

MARCH 31, 2014    LAST UPDATED: MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2014, 5:25 PM

In less than seven weeks, Ridgewood’s electorate will be tasked with selecting two of its neighbors to serve on the village’s governing body.

Residents James Albano, Susan Knudsen and Michael Sedon each filed completed candidate forms and nominating petitions and will appear on the voter ballots in May.

The three candidates are seeking to replace two departing council members, Thomas Riche and Bernadette Walsh, each of whom opted not to seek another term.

Each seat on the Village Council carries a four-year term.

The Ridgewood News asked the candidates the same series of questions in order to draft brief biographical sketches of each.

The profiles follow in alphabetical order.

Reader says the current problems obviously start at the top with our very ambitious Mayor and his dubious team.

While our choices are few in the upcoming election, we should all be aware that one candidate, Mr. Albano appears to be aligned with the Mayor. Like Mrs. Hauck, Mr. Albano is a decent person that is passionate about a single issue but has no other real qualifications for the job. The current voting block of 3 needs to be broken up, not added to.

Mr. Sedon on the other hand has covered countless meetings for the Ridgewood News and is intimately familiar with the budgeting process and all municipal departments. He is an independent thinker and has a healthy skepticism for less than credible “expert” testimony about the Hospital and high density housing.

Mrs. Kundson is also an independent thinker who will not just vote with the establishment. She appears to be unafraid of the political retribution that Mr. Aronsohn, Mrs. Hauck and Mr. Pucciarelli have wielded over the past year against their adversaries.

Please do your homework – all of the candidates are very approachable. Please ask each one where they stand on Valley and the apartments. Get it in an e-mail if possible. The 3 incumbents are masters of saying one thing but meaning another. They are political hacks at best and have succeeded this week in converting Ridgewood from a local laughingstock into a national laughingstock. Bravo.
