Englewood Cliffs NJ,  after pressure  form the towns Democratic Council members Gloria Oh, Ed Aversa, Deborah Tsabari and Jimmy Song and Council Candidates Glenn Luciano and David Di Gregorio , Englewood Cliffs  Mayor Mario Kranjac has decided to rescind the bill sent to Emily Gil for hosting a Black Lives Matter protest in Englewood Cliffs , effectively sticking to bill on taxpayers .

Black Lives Matter Protest Organizer Hit with Police Overtime Bill

Englewood Cliffs NJ,  A teen who organized a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest this summer was hit with an unexpected bill for $2,500 for police overtime from the borough. Obviously if you plan an event that expends police resources, you need to fit the bill. That’s standard procedure. Every town needs to do this when a permit is pulled. Pay up.

NJ State Police and the Englewood Cliffs Police Department seek the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect for allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint in Englewood Cliffs

Englewood Cliffs NJ, The New Jersey State Police and the Englewood Cliffs Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect wanted for allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint on Bayview Avenue in Englewood Cliffs.
On Sunday, August 2, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a male suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim, forcibly removed a watch from his wrist, and fled the scene on foot with another suspect in the direction of Sylvan Avenue.
The suspect who brandished the gun is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male in his late 20’s to early 30’s, wearing a purple shirt, light blue jeans, and gray and white sneakers.
A detective with the New Jersey State Police Forensic Imaging Unit created a composite sketch of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Englewood Cliffs Police Department Detective Bureau at 201-569-8088.

Englewood Cliffs NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of THOMAS PARISI (DOB: 11/05/1990; single; restaurant manager) of 573 Floyd Street, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, on charges of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child and Criminal Sexual Contact.  The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Conner.

Englewood Cliffs Forced to allow Hundreds of Affordable Homes after Violating Fair Housing Laws for Decades

Englewood Cliffs NJ, Englewood Cliffs is required to build hundreds of new homes affordable to working families and people with disabilities – after violating the state’s fair housing laws for decades, a Superior Court judge has ruled.

The decision by Bergen County Superior Court Judge Christine A. Farrington requires borough officials to provide a plan within 90 days to build 347 homes to satisfy the town’s fair housing obligations under the Mount Laurel doctrine – or be stripped of all zoning powers.

Wife sues driver who killed her jogging husband

TENAFLY – The wife of a man struck and killed by a car during an early morning jog last fall has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver, according to court documents.

Robert E. Hyer Jr., 63, of Tenafly, was killed Oct. 25, 2016, as he crossed East Clinton Avenue at Woodland Street in Tenafly, according to a lawsuit filed March 13 in Bergen County Superior Court.

The driver was Raffaella Garritano, 58, of Englewood Cliffs, according to attorneys for Hyer’s wife Andrea McDermott Hyer, 54.

“Garritano operated that vehicle in such an inattentive, careless, reckless and negligent manner so as to strike and violently knock (the victim) to the ground,” the suit states.
