Fair Lawn NJ, a Saturday afternoon in Fair Lawn took an unexpected turn when a black SUV went airborne and landed on top of a parked, unoccupied sedan.
Fair Lawn NJ, a Fair Lawn police officer, who was actively searching for two (2) fleeing shoplifting suspects, sustained a minor injury during a Monday morning, 01/29, two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Maple Avenue and River Road, Fair Lawn. The officer was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle involved was uninjured. Both shoplifting suspects were swiftly captured by other responding officers near the crash scene, which is right in front of the CVS store that was targeted by the alleged shoplifters. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged unmarked police car from the scene. The other vehicle involved in the crash left the scene on its own power.
Fair Lawn NJ, two (2) individuals were struck by at least one (1) vehicle near the intersection of Cedar Street and Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn shortly after 7:30 PM on Sunday, 01/28. Both individuals were transported by separate ambulances to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. One (1) victim was gravely injured, the other was alert and conscious as he/she was being loaded into an ambulance. Paramedics from The Valley Hospital assisted Fair Lawn EMS personnel at the scene. Maple Avenue was closed in both directions near the crash site for an indefinite period to facilitate an accident investigation.
Fair lawn NJ, a minor accident occurred at the intersection of Forest Street and Maple Avenue in Fair Lawn, NJ. The incident involved three vehicles, resulting in one personal injury and the need for towing. The driver of a white 4-door sedan sustained a minor arm injury and received immediate medical attention from Fair Lawn EMS personnel. Fair Lawn Police officers are currently investigating the crash. Fair Lawn NJ, Eastbound and westbound Broadway in Fair Lawn were both closed temporarily late Saturday night, 11/04, following a three (3) vehicle collision at the intersection of Broadway and Plaza Road. Multiple injuries were reported in the crash; at least two (2) individuals required ambulance transportation to local hospitals. Fair Lawn Police was assisted by Elmwood Park Police and Saddle Brook Police with traffic control. Fair Lawn Fire Department Company #3 and Fair Lawn Rescue also responded to the scene. All three (3) vehicles involved in the incident sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. The crash remains under investigation by Fair Lawn Police Department.
Fair Lawn NJ, an early Friday afternoon, 09/08, water main break resulted in the complete closure of an access ramp to and from northbound Route 208, and the relocation of ambulances belonging to the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The break occurred at the intersection of Plaza Road and Cooper’s Way shortly before 12:30 PM. Water flow was quickly shut down, but not before it had created a gaping hole in the highway access ramp, which also limited access to the nearby Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps headquarters/garage. Fair Lawn Police officers provided traffic control throughout the repair process
Fair Lawn NJ, the driver of a 4-door Honda Accord sustained non-life threatening injuries after crashing into a utility pole late Friday afternoon, 08/11, on Midland Avenue in Fair Lawn. Fair Lawn EMS transported the victim to a local hospital. A utility pole downed in the crash blocked Midland Avenue in both directions for an extended period. Fair Lawn Police and Fair Lawn EMS responded to the incident along with repair crews from PSE&G’s Electric Division and Verizon. The Honda was towed from the scene.
Fair Lawn NJ, a Wednesday afternoon, 07/26, single vehicle rollover crash on Route 208 northbound under Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn resulted in the vehicle’s driver sustaining non-life threatening injuries which required ambulance transport to a nearby hospital. The vehicle was righted and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
Fair Lawn NJ, a 2-door Honda Accord slammed into a church located at 22-15 Broadway (westbound Broadway), Fair Lawn late Friday night, 05/05. The vehicle’s adult driver was treated at the scene by a Fair Lawn EMS crew and released at the scene. No apparent structural damage to the church was noted. However, one (1) or more traffic control barriers filled with dirt were damaged in the crash and dirt splattered all over the church’s front facing facade. A flatbed tow truck removed the totaled Honda from the scene.
Fair Lawn NJ, Firefighters quickly extinguished a Wednesday morning, 04/05, fire that started on the second floor of a home on Ruskin Road in Fair Lawn. No injuries were reported in the incident. The single family home was unoccupied when police and firefighters arrived on the scene. An investigation is underway to determine what started the smokey blaze. Fair lawn NJ, Multiple non-life threatening injuries were reported when a passenger vehicle plowed head on into the crowded Green Dragon Asian Cuisine Restaurant in Fair Lawn early Sunday evening, 02/05. All Borough of Fair Lawn emergency services agencies responded to the incident. The restaurant. located in the 1900 block of Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn, sustained heavy damage to its exterior façade and interior dining room. The vehicle, a Ford SUV, was backed out of the interior on its own power, then removed from the parking lot by a flatbed tow truck. The driver was apparently uninjured in the mishap.

Hawthorne NJ, three (3) individuals were hospitalized following a two (2) vehicle, early Wednesday morning, 10/19, collision at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Loretto Avenue, on the border of Fair Lawn and Hawthorne. One (1) of the vehicles involved was propelled into the front façade of a nearby Hawthorne restaurant, which was, fortunately, unoccupied at the time. Both heavily damaged vehicles were towed from the scene.
Fair Lawn NJ, on Sunday March 20th the Fair Lawn Police temporarily diverted traffic on Broadway East and 30th street because of a motor vehicle crash. It appears the operator struck a parked car causing their vehicle to turn on its side. The operator is suspected of being under the influence (DWI) and is being brought to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Fair Lawn NJ, the impact of a two (2) vehicle, Monday night, 06/28, collision at the intersection of John Street and Morlott Avenue, Fair Lawn sent a black Jeep Wrangler careening off of the roadway and into a nearby single family home on John Street. Two (2) individuals were injured in the crash; they both refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital. Tow trucks were summoned to remove both wrecks. Damage to the struck home did not appear to have been significant in nature. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, and Fair Lawn EMS responded to the incident.
