Franklin Lakes NJ, The Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department is actively seeking trained firefighters, who may be interested in participating in a newly formed Duty-Crew program and also Day Time Stipend program being funded by a FEMA S.A.F.E.R. grant. The Duty Crew program will require 10-12 10 hour daytime Monday – Friday shifts per quarter to be awarded a stipend of $1,500.00. Members who choose to participate in the Day Time Stipend program will be awarded a maximum of $412.00 per quarter. The number of participating volunteers will be limited and are filling quickly. Those who may be interested or who may have questions are asked to contact Chief Ryan Dodd at 201-891-5736 or firechief@franklinlakes.org. Members will be required to maintain active membership status with the Franklin Lakes Fire Department in order to participate in the above programs. Applications can be picked up at Franklin Lakes Borough Hall located at 480 Dekorte Drive, Franklin Lakes New Jersey.

Exterminator succumbed to bee sting in Franklin Lakes

Franklin lakes NJ,  Franklin Lakes PD, EMS, and FD, along with a paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital, responded to a 911 report of a man lying unconscious on the roof of a synagogue located at 375 Pulis Avenue sometime around 12 noon on Wednesday, 11/04. The victim, an exterminator, was pronounced dead on the scene by the paramedic team. He apparently succumbed to a bee sting.
