Glen Rock NJ, a calm Sunday afternoon in Glen Rock took a dramatic turn on December 8th when a resident of Demarest Street spotted smoke rising from a wooded area just north of Faber Field. Acting swiftly, the resident dialed 911, alerting authorities to what would soon be classified as a suspicious outdoor fire.

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police report last Monday at 7:13 p.m. patrols, along with Glen Rock Firefighters, responded to a Southboro Lane home to investigate a flooding condition which was reported to be affecting the utilities in the home. It was determined that leaves had blocked a storm drain and caused the street to flood onto the resident’s property and into the garage and basement of the home. The fire department was able to make conditions safe and the DPW was called out to remove the leaves from the affected area before more damage occurred.

Glen Rock NJ, A rollover crash at the intersection of Jerome Avenue and Prospect Street in Glen Rock resulted in the destruction of a fire hydrant and two (2) utility poles on Thursday evening, 04/06. Glen Rock firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the vehicle’s driver. The victim was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center. A portion of Prospect Street near Jerome Avenue was closed for an extended period to facilitate repairs to utility services. The wrecked vehicle was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Glen Rock PD is investigating the incident.

Glen Rock NJ, An driver-less SUV rolled down a steep hill and crashed into an occupied home at 163 Boulevard, Glen Rock late in the afternoon of Saturday, 10/22. Glen Rock PD and FD responded to the scene. No injuries were reported associated with the incident and the home did not appear to have sustained any significant structural damage. The heavily damaged vehicle was removed by a flatbed tow truck. Glen Rock PD is investigating the cause of the “roll away.”

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock firefighters battled a brush fire on Route 208 northbound near Lincoln Avenue on Sunday afternoon, 08/14. The fire appeared to have been caused by a downed high tension electrical wire. Route 208 northbound was briefly closed at Deboer Avenue as firefighters worked.
