Glen Rock NJ, the rocky residue of glaciation comes in all shapes and sizes, from sand grains and clay particles up to abandoned boulders of often wondrous size. The most conspicuous glacial erratics in our neighborhood, seated in isolated splendor, earned names and had their likenesses published on postcards. Such is the story of the lonely stone-faced giant, Painmaikapuka, better known as the Glen Rock.

Glen Rock Student Finds Swastika Penned on Desk Top

Glen Rock NJ, in what seems to a yearly occurrence Glen Rock school officials as well as police are looking into an incident after a student found a swastika penned into the top of a desk earlier this week.
The desk is located in a classroom shared by sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

Glen Rock NJ, according to Business Administrator Lenora Benjamin the borough of Glen Rock created a program called  Big Sweep  to ease the challenge of fall leaf-raking  for its older residents by connecting seniors  with volunteers willing to take on the annual leaf-raking task.

Stranger Wakes Glen Rock Resident With Early Morning Pounding on Door

Glen Rock NJ, on the morning of December 2nd  at 4:08 AM a Glen Rock resident on the 700 block of Harristown Road recieved an early morning wake up call, knock on the door  by an unknown male subject at their front door.

Glen Rock NJ, on December 3rd at 2:27 PM , a Nottingham Road resident reported to Glen Rock Police that an elderly woman, driving by, stopped and approached their 6-year-old child asking if the child would walk their dog.

Glen Rock Police Officers Escort Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade floats from Carlstadt to the staging area in Central Park

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock SGT Scott McGovern and P/O Adam Pyatak had the honor of escorting the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade floats from their home in Carlstadt to the staging area in Central Park. Approximately 30 motor officers and 20 police cars took approximately 2 hours in the middle of the night Tuesday night into Wednesday to complete this trip.

Thanksgiving Day Runs , the Tradition Keeps Growing

Glen Rock NJ, many Bergen county municipalities hosted  a Thanksgiving day run to help residents burn off some of their Thanksgiving day dinner . One of those is the borough of Glen Rock , organized by Racefaster called , 5k Run “Turkey Trot “. Ridgewood Emergency Services added a helping hand through their  Special Operations unit to help out on race day  .

Drivers Loses Control and Hits Tree in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, No injuries were reported following the early Sunday afternoon, 09/18, crash of a Hyundai SUV into a tree near 125 Cornwall Road, Glen Rock. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged vehicle from the scene. Glen Rock Police was investigating what caused the driver to lose control and veer off of the roadway.

No Injuries Reported in Collision at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Park Avenue in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, no injuries were reported in a three (3) passenger vehicle collision at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Park Avenue, Glen Rock on Saturday night, 09/03. Two (2) vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash; they both were removed from the scene by tow trucks. Glen Rock Police Department and Glen Rock Fire Department responded to the incident (FD personnel attended to a crash related fluid spill).

While the primary role of a school crossing guard is to guide children safely across the street, each guard plays another key function — a role model helping children develop the skills necessary to cross streets safely at all times. The position of crossing guard is one of the most dangerous of municipal jobs due to uncooperative motorists and accidents.

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police departments’s 2022 Intern, Danielle Pragdat, is heading back to school after completing her summer internship with us. She gained hands on experience working in the Records Bureau with our administrative assistant, handling multiple projects throughout her internship. She was also able to spend some time with police officers on a ride along and learned how to operate a taser. The department thanked Danielle  for all of her hard work this summer  and wished her a great school year! , the door is always open and best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Glen Rock Fire Department Rescues the Cable Guy

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Fire Department tower ladder truck was dispatched to Hanover Place, Glen Rock late Tuesday afternoon, 08/09, to rescue an adult male cable TV contractor who became stuck in a bucket truck that malfunctioned while its hydraulic arm was in the “up” position. No injuries were reported by the rescued individual. Glen Rock Police assisted with traffic control.

Fallen High Tension Electric Cable Closes Route 208 Near De Boer Drive in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ,A fallen high tension electric cable resulted in the closure of Route 208 near De Boer Drive, Glen Rock late morning and early afternoon on Saturday, 07/30. The “hot” cable also caused several small brush fires along NJ Transit’s Main Line tracks under Route 208. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, but motor vehicle traffic in the surrounding area was clogged for hours. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department  were assisted by multiple law enforcement and fire suppression agencies in handling the incident.
