Ridgewood Native Dies Tragically in Brooklyn Scooter Accident

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood native 24-year-old Molly Pearson died tragically on November 6th after her motor scooter was run over by a box truck in Brooklyn . According to the NYPD Molly was riding a two-wheeled Lime moped around 11:15 a.m. November 2 when she was hit by a white box truck at the intersection of Meeker and Skillman avenues in Williamsburg.

Ho-Ho-Kus Begins Leaf Collection

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Leaf collection begins November 1st- Residents should rake the leaves to the street no more than seven days prior to the date indicated on the schedule for pick up in their district. Please note there may be variations +/- in the schedule due to weather conditions or emergencies. However, we will always be there on or after the date. Leaves must be out the night before the date indicated to ensure removal.

Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department Has A New Captain

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department announced the promotion of Greg McBain to the rank of Captain. Greg started in 2004 as a dispatcher and became a police officer in 2005. He was later assigned to the detective bureau. In 2018, he was promoted to Detective Sergeant. Greg is married to his wife, Katie and has two beautiful daughters. Greg also coaches the varsity girls basketball team. He enjoys weight lifting, collecting sports cards and memorabilia.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, according to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department  Friday night two vehicles were stolen within the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus. One from W. Saddle River Road and the other from Edgewood Drive , Key fobs were left in the vehicles. If any residents have cameras in the area, please check for any suspicious activity last night and contact headquarters. Once again, we remind all – please REMOVE your key fobs from vehicles !!

Ridgewood NJ, 9/11 remembrances were held across  Bergen county . The Village of Ridgewood lost 12 neighbors on that day and the Village of Ridgewood hosted a 9/11 remembrance to  remember and honor all those tragically lost on 9/11 at Memorial Park at Van Neste Square .

Over 70 exhibitors will be participating on the tree-shaded front lawn of the historic Hermitage Museum, 335 North Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus. Food, desserts, homemade ice cream and Italian ices served. Friends of the Hermitage, a charitable organization, is sponsoring this event. Admission is $4.

The ceremony took place in the Council Chambers during the Mayor & Council meeting. Officer Rodrigo’s father held the Bible. The Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus extends its best wishes to Officer Rodrigo for a successful career with the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department.

Ho-Ho-Kus Police Welcome New Police Officer

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, on July 1st Ho-Ho-Kus Police welcomed new Police Officer Kevin Rodrigo to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department. Kevin, who will wear badge #53, joins the Department from the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police where he served since 2017 and was recognized for his performance with a Lieutenant’s Patrol Commendation and a Unit Citation Award. Rodrigo is a volunteer firefighter for Company #1 with the Secaucus Fire Department. He holds a Master of Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, The Ho-Ho-Kus Ambulance Corps formed in 1956 under the sponsorship of the V.F.W., reorganizing in 1962 with its own officers. In 1963, the Ambulance Corps dedicated its first new ambulance to the citizens of Ho-Ho-Kus.
Today, the Ho-Ho-Kus Memorial Volunteer Ambulance Corps consists of an exceptional team of dedicated and committed volunteers who faithfully respond to over 300 911 emergency calls per year, stand by at community events, educate local students, participate in training drills and provide EMS support to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police and Fire Departments.
