Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood High School FTC Robotics team participated in their first competition in December. Our team (The WoodChips) competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge, a national robotics league.
FIRST Tech Challenge teams design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and collaboration.

Ridgewood NJ, A new study conducted by O2, a company which owns some of United Kingdom’s largest music venues, and Patrick Fagan claims that attending live concerts can help increase life expectancy and improve overall well-being.
Fagan, who is an associate lecturer a Goldsmith University specializing in behavioral science, said, “Our research showcases the profound impact gigs have on feelings of health, happiness and wellbeing – with fortnightly or regular attendance being the key. Combining all of our findings with O2’s research, we arrive at a prescription of a gig a fortnight which could pave the way for almost a decade more years of life.”

RHS Bands Kick Off Kasschau Season on June 2

Ridgewood NJ, On Thursday, June 2, the RHS Symphonic Band, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will officially open the Kasschau Memorial Shell’s 2016 Summer Season with “Tunes in June,” a concert of light and popular music. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. and will also feature a ceremony to honor graduating seniors from the band program. Click here for full details.
