Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation (S2519) which requires public health emergency credits to be awarded to certain inmates and parolees during a public health emergency. The legislation includes certain exclusions and prohibits inmates or parolees to contact their victims upon their release.
Ridgewood NJ, The New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run – Special Olympics made its way through Northwest Bergen County on Friday morning, 10/09. The photos included here were taken in Ridgewood and Midland Park. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, the Torch Run did not make stops at Ridgewood schools this year.
Midland Park NJ, A Wednesday afternoon, 07/29, construction accident at the Midland Park Shopping Center, 85 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park resulted in one (1) worker being seriously injured. The victim was reportedly struck by a backhoe operating in connection with a PSE&G infrastructure improvement project. Midland Park Police and Midland Park EMS responded to aid the worker, who was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. No further information about the incident was available from police at the scene.

Waldwick NJ,An individual sustained life threatening injuries after reportedly being struck by a NJ Transit train in Waldwick late Monday evening, 01/27. The victim was transported by helicopter from the Waldwick Municipal Pool Parking Lot to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. Midland Park NJ, according to the Midland Park Police Department Erie Avenue residents construction has started on the Erie Avenue resurfacing project. Handicapped curb ramps will be constructed at the intersections. New sidewalks and driveway aprons will be constructed in the locations where sidewalks are missing.
Midland Park NJ, An adult female driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital following a Friday afternoon, 10/11, crash at 190 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park. Midland Park Police, Midland Park Fire Department, Midland Park EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital responded to the incident. The driver’s 4-door Volvo sedan jumped a curb and caused significant structural damage when it crashed through the front wall of a mixed used building. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked vehicle.
Midland Park NJ, No injuries were reported following a Tuesday afternoon, 10/08, motor vehicle crash in the rear of a medical office building located at 44 Godwin Avenue, Midland Park. Midland Park Police and Midland Park Fire Department responded to the incident, in which the adult female driver of a BMW SUV mistook a wheelchair ramp for an exit driveway. Structural damage to the office building was limited to two (2) stair railings and support piping for a canopy. The SUV was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Police on the scene did not say whether any summonses would be issued to the driver.
Ridgewood NJ, An adult male suspected of burglarizing an automobile parked at the intersection of Passaic Street and South Broad Street, Ridgewood on Sunday morning, 07/21, was captured moments later after an alert Glen Rock police officer spotted him hiding in the rear of a nearby bank. A bystander who witnessed the alleged car break in called 911 and provided a detailed description of the alleged perpetrator, which was instrumental in his capture.
In addition to assistance provided by Glen Rock Police, Midland Park Police also responded to aid in the search. The suspect was handcuffed and transported to Ridgewood PD headquarters for processing. Just a reminder to my followers; this individual is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Midland Park NJ, Two (2) single family homes were clipped and two (2) passenger vehicles were heavily damaged when a tree fell in the backyard of a home on Maple Avenue in Midland Park early Friday morning, 07/12. Midland Park Police and Midland Park Fire responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.
Midland Park NJ, Midland Park Police Department report during the early morning hours of 7/1/19 2 residents had their vehicles stolen from their driveways. In both incidents the key fob and valuables were left in the vehicle. We also had 2 incidents of valuables stolen from vehicles that were left unlocked.
We ask that you do the following prior to parking your vehicle at night.
-lock your car doors. -remove the key fob from the vehicle. -remove all valuables or place them in the trunk.

Midland Park NJ, Midland Park Police, Midland Park EMS, and Midland Park Fire all responded to a Wednesday morning, 04/10 motor vehicle crash with personal injury at the intersection of Erie and Franklin Avenues, Midland Park. Two (2) SUVs were wrecked and removed from the scene by flatbed tow trucks. At least one (1) victim of the crash was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
