Murphy’s Marijuana Legalization Social Justice Rhetoric Goes Up in Smoke When You Follow the Money

POT-SMOKING-KID

Trenton NJ, Senator Robert Singer said it’s clear when you follow the money that Governor Phil Murphy’s interest in marijuana legalization has little to do with improving social justice.

“If improving social justice was truly the Governor’s goal, he could have supported the legislation that I sponsor with Senator Rice to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana,” said Singer (R-Monmouth). “That would prevent both arrests and incarceration, solving the social justice problem for most people. We could have done that a year ago. The fact that Governor Murphy never truly considered decriminalization tells you that money, not social justice, is the driving force behind the movement to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in New Jersey.”

Jack DeLorenzo for Bergen County Sheriff

44073634 1879682882077644 8554215883029872640 n1

As I have been out campaigning, meeting with law enforcement personnel, elected officials and taxpayers I am delivering one very important message that I want to share with you.
I will approach the position of sheriff from the unique perspective of having been both a career law enforcement officer and also a board of education trustee and the mayor of a municipality in Bergen County.

I know first-hand that money is tight for municipal governments and the more that the Sheriff’s Department can be an asset to all to all 70 towns in the county the better the public will be served.
As sheriff I will make sure the sheriff’s department will serve all municipalities and all residents. If you have ideas on how the sheriff’s department can help your community, let me know.
Thanks
Jack

Hackensack, NJ,in a statement yesterday CD5 GOP Candidate John McCannn said ,” Sheriff Michael Saudino must resign immediately. These comments are offensive and hurtful. I am saddened for the good men and women in law enforcement in Bergen County who do an outstanding job protecting us.

Just a few short weeks ago, Josh Gottheimer stood shoulder to shoulder with Sheriff Saudino, enjoying his endorsement. Now the question is will Congressman Gottheimer renounce Saudino’s endorsement? I encourage him to do that and not play politics by saying one thing and doing another.”
