Newark NJ, The Office for Youth & Young Adult Ministry of the Archdiocese of Newark recently launched its new “Days in the Diocese” program, which offers one-day service immersion experiences to archdiocesan teens throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.
Ridgewood NJ, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, had a bit of a scare after two rectory staff tested positive for COVID19 . Masses were temporally suspended , however all priests tested negative and mass was resumed .
Ridgewood NJ, according to their Faceboook page Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church food drive collected 302 turkeys and seven SUV’s filled with other nonperishable food items . The turkeys were split up with 253 going to Fr. English, 25 to Ridgewood Social Services (the maximum they could take) and 24 turkey breasts and one ham for Ridgecrest Seniors. Nonperishable food items were also divided up for the three locations.
Ridgewood NJ, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is participating in the Box of Joy program, a ministry of Cross Catholic Outreach. If interested, your family will pick up an empty box (and informational materials) from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, shop for small gifts, fill it, and drop off. Donations will bless children, worldwide, suffering from extreme poverty by sharing the joy of Christmas and planting seeds of hope through the Gospel.
Ridgewood NJ, , The Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan spoke about Judge Amy Coney Barrett on his SiriusXM show “Conversation with Cardinal Dolan” and said “she takes her Catholic faith seriously, but that is not why she was nominated as a Justice to the Supreme Court is it? I think she is nominated because she is the best candidate around. I hope so. And from what I hear she is. So, lets hope for the best.”
