New Jersey Assembly and Senate Bills provide immunity from lawsuits to businesses that act in good faith and follow COVID19 safety protocols

CBD 2020

Ridgewood NJ,  Companion bills introduced today in the New Jersey Assembly and Senate that provide immunity to businesses that act in good faith and follow safety protocols during the state’s economic reopening will help ensure the survival of many small businesses. NFIB, an association representing thousands of small businesses across New Jersey, supports this legislation because innocent business owners who did all that was expected of them can lose their business due simply to the high cost of a legal defense.

Ridgewood Central Business Merchants Need to Step Up

clock

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood Nj, according to Northjersey.com , some Ridgewood merchants did not even know about the “free parking” on Saturdays .

Sorry folks but it is amazing how uninformed the public is about what is going on in the Village, the county and the state .

The “free” Saturday parking was emailed twice by the Village ,appeared on the chamber of Commerce site and was on this blog a number of times as well as all over Facebook and other social media sites.

I want to remind Central Business District Merchants that tax payers are building you a parking garage at great cost ,where you are the prime beneficiaries  .

While many options were tired to improve parking , most of the Village merchants did not appear to lift one finger to participate in any of those efforts , including utilizing the employee parking spaces.

Reader says ,”when I was a child we did not like people who butted and bullied their way in front of lines and acted more important than everyone else”

“How is this the town I have lived in for 35 years? It’s unspeakable, the way we are treating each other and it has to stop.” –

I have news for you. I have lived here much longer than 35 years. And way back when I was a child we did not like people who butted and bullied their way in front of lines and acted more important than everyone else. This behavior was not tolerated then and it should not be tolerated now and I agree with everyone who has expressed disgust with the self-appointed VIP’s.

Ridgewood Guild’s Winter Festival “VIP Passes” ?

08 1

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, It has come to the attention of The Blog that those who run the “Ridgewood Walks” consider themselves to be more important than the average citizen. At the Ridgewood Guild’s Winter Festival in Van Neste Square on Saturday, Ms. Jeanne Johnson brought her group to the front of the long line for the horse and carriage rides. Little children, babies in strollers, parents, grandparents, everyone waiting in line for the horse rides had to move back so Ms. Johnson, who proclaimed herself to be a V.I.P., could get her group onto the ride without waiting. How sad that at a family event, intended to create good will, camaraderie, and happy memories, someone with an outsized ego had to teach the children in line that everyone is equal, but some people are more equal than others.

Ridgewood Ticket Blitz to Target Empoyees Who Use Street Parking in the Central Business District

Employee parking lots near Town Garage

December 27,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood is currently executing a ticket blitz on employees that use street parking instead of the employee parking lots. After much effort was made by the Village to support the merchants and restaurants the employee parking lots have not been used and there is a resistance to use them from both the Chamber and the Guild . The ticket blitz is seen a way for tax payers to collect money and help mitigate parking garage costs .
