Regardless of what Pamela R. Perron , Councilmember liaison to the Central Business District Advisory Committee claims at Village Council meetings. The word is the naysayers don’t want to go public for fear of retribution . Both Perron and Jeanie Johnson have access to the survey despite denials .

Ridgewood NJ, at Wednesday nights Village Council meeting Village Manager Heather Mailander announced that Ridgewood Central Business District will be converted into a pedestrian mall for Saturdays and Sundays only, starting on July 10th and running through September 5th.
Ridgewood NJ, The Welcome Back to Ridgewood, NJ Event, which creates a pedestrian mall between Broad Street and Walnut Street, will take place this weekend, November 21st and 22nd. Retail businesses place their products on tables and eateries have outdoor dining on the streets in front of their businesses. In addition, on the west side of the Central Business District, Ridgewood’s West Village, has many unique stores and eateries. We encourage you to visit us to enjoy our local shops and eateries during the warmer weather this weekend. All of our businesses and eateries have signed a pledge to adhere to the CDC guidelines, so customers can shop and dine with confidence in Ridgewood’s Central Business District. Masks are strongly encouraged at this event and are always required to enter any businesses. The Welcome Back to Ridgewood, NJ Event will not take place on November 28th and 29th.
Ridgewood NJ, At the request of restaurants and retailers, the pedestrian mall, for the Welcome Back to Ridgewood, NJ event will be cancelled this weekend, October 31st and November 1st. Please continue to shop and dine at our many fine retailers, restaurants, and eateries on both the east side and west side of the Village’s Central Business District now, and throughout the upcoming holiday season.
Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood central business district was once again hit bad luck , the Village dedicated Columbus Day to Village restaurants by once again creating a pedestrian mall . Unfortunately so far the heavens have conspired against the effort be releasing showers . While many like the idea of open air dinning coupled with a walkable downtown , some Village merchants grumble that the pedestrian mall takes away from business eliminating the quick pick up by making it near impossible . The upside to the uncooperative weather is that Columbus Day is a legal holiday in Ridgewood and parking is FREE.
Ridgewood NJ, The Hudson Street Garage first level parking is open. The days/hours when payment is required at the garage are: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sundays are free of charge. There is no overnight parking in the garage. There is a 3-hour limit, and the charge is $1.00/hour. The kiosk for the Hudson Street garage is located at the entrance to the Hudson Street Garage.
The Hudson Street Garage can be accessed from Prospect St. or Dayton St. to Hudson St. Conveniently located, the garage is adjacent to many stores, restaurants, salons, and services. It is also a quick, fun, and scenic walk to the west side shops and eateries using the pedestrian tunnel under the railroad tracks.
Ridgewood NJ, “Welcome Back to Ridgewood, NJ” event – This event will run through the summer season. – Monday through Friday, all retail businesses are able to place their products on tables outside of their business (once they obtain a permit from the Village). All food places are permitted to have outdoor dining (once they obtain a permit from the Village). Food is also available for pickup at the dining establishments. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday through 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, the Central Business District from North Walnut Street to Broad Street will be closed to vehicular traffic along East Ridgewood Avenue, including the side streets of Oak Street, Prospect Street, and Chestnut Street, which will create a pedestrian mall.
