The Village proudly welcomed District 1 of the New Jersey Parks and Recreation Association to the terrace of Graydon Pool this morning. The agenda was brimming with discussions about upcoming summer camps and pool activities.

Ridgewood Police Department Educate on Bicycle Safety

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department continues to try to interact with and educate the youth of the Village on bicycle safety. Today, Officer Andrew Van Dyke and Officer Vincenzo Vaccarella assisted the Ridgewood Parks Department and EZ Ride at Graydon Pool with bicycle skills and safety courses.

Ridgewood Central Business District Needs Clean Up Before the Annual Car Show

Ridgewood NJ, many residents understand the importance of a vital and prosperous central business district. However there are great differences of opinion on what that actually means. To some it’s more outdoor dining ,plenty of parking , to others it’s pedestrian plaza but most residents want to see storefronts bustling with business activity . Often lost in the debate is simple maintenance . Clean streets and well manicured planters , no trash or garbage are shoppers and visitors’ first  impression.

Ridgewood Parks Department Employee Reports Vandalism at Maple Field Park

Ridgewood NJ ,the Ridgewood Police report that on May 5, 2020, a Ridgewood Parks Department employee discovered criminal mischief damage at Maple Field Park. The soccer goals were removed from the field during the Covid restrictions and left chained together. An unknown person reportedly cut the chains placed them back on the field and damaged the soccer goals

Swarm of Honey Bees Forced the Temporary Suspension of Outdoor Dining at Raymond’s Restaurant

Ridgewood NJ, A swarm of approximately 15,000 honey bees forced the temporary suspension of outdoor dining at Raymond’s Restaurant and disrupted pedestrian traffic in a portion of downtown Ridgewood on Saturday afternoon, 06/01. Local beekeeper Frank Mortimer successfully dispersed the swarm. No injuries were reported. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Emergency Services, and two (2) representatives of the Ridgewood Parks Department responded to the incident.

The Ridgewood Police wisely kept their distance while the Bee keeper Frank Mortimer did his work .

…the fly finds this amusing that the park supervisor is refusing to cut the lawn for the library and the fire department he says it’s not Ridgewood Parks you should look into it and see what happens so he refuses to do it even though it’s owned by The Village something we’ve been doing for the last 50 years
