A Revised Ridgewood School Budget will be Presented at a Public hearing after Successful “Chapter 44” Appeal

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Bergen County Superintendent of Schools all 76 public school districts in Bergen County have submitted their budgets. Each district will hear back in the next few weeks, and there is still time for districts to make adjustments.

NJ lawmakers approve plans for $300 Million of upgrades for schools across the state including, Ridgewood, Glen Rock and Ho-Ho-Kus

Ridgewood NJ, Legislative plans have been approved to spend more than $300 million in state bond proceeds on school projects throughout the state, including upgrades at county colleges, K-12 schools and vocational-technical schools.

Ridgewood Faces 4.3 percent municipal tax increase

Ridgewood NJ, on Wednesday at the Village Council meeting chief financial officer Bob Rooney laid out the case for a 4.3 percent municipal tax increase .Rooney explained that a tax increase is needed due to lost revenues from COVID-19, consecutive years of modest or no tax increases, and the use of one-time, non-recurring revenues to balance the budget. The 52.9 million Village budget  including the 4.3 percent municipal tax increase will be voted on by the Village Council at the May 12 meeting .

Dear Ridgewood Public School Community,

The Ridgewood Board of Education (“Board”) and the Ridgewood Education Association (“Association”) have been unable to agree on the terms of a successor agreement to the 3-year contract, which expired on June 30, 2018. The Association represents the teachers and secretaries employed in the Ridgewood Public School District.
