Domestic Turmoil Exposed: Police Reports Reveal Multiple Calls to New Milford Homicide Scene Days Before Fatal Stabbing

New Milford NJ, Tragedy Strikes: Bergen County’s First Homicide. The quiet New Jersey town of New Milford was rocked by Bergen County’s first reported homicide of the year in September, when 24-year-old Mateo Ocho-Gonzalez was fatally stabbed in his home on River Road. The subsequent investigation led authorities to charge 25-year-old Justin Wilhelm of Morris County with the killing.
Edgewater NJ, aHudson County man was arrested after allegedly brandishing a firearm at another driver during a road rage incident early Thursday morning, according to Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin.
Fair Lawn NJ, a Fair Lawn police officer, who was actively searching for two (2) fleeing shoplifting suspects, sustained a minor injury during a Monday morning, 01/29, two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Maple Avenue and River Road, Fair Lawn. The officer was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle involved was uninjured. Both shoplifting suspects were swiftly captured by other responding officers near the crash scene, which is right in front of the CVS store that was targeted by the alleged shoplifters. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged unmarked police car from the scene. The other vehicle involved in the crash left the scene on its own power.
Edgewater NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of DUSTIN ROBALINO (DOB: 06/10/2004; single; unemployed) of 108 Kennedy Boulevard, Bayonne, NJ; GILBERTO ROMAN (DOB: 12/22/2003; single; unemployed) of 5 Monroe Avenue, Carteret, NJ; WILKINS FURMENT (DOB: 11/10/2003; single; caterer) of 456 Tonnelle Avenue, Jersey City, NJ; JIMMY RUIZ (DOB: 01/22/2005; single; unemployed) currently incarcerated at Hudson County Jail; and GIANCARLO RODRIGUEZ (DOB: 10/11/1997; single; self-employed disc jockey) of 354 6th Avenue, Paterson, NJ, on charges of carjacking, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit carjacking, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, and theft. The arrests are the result of a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Edgewater Police Department under the direction of Chief Donald Martin.

New Milford NJ, Tuesday at 5:38pm City of Hackensack Fire Department received a mutual aid request from New Milford Fire Department for an occupied vehicle that crashed into a structure with entrapment at 495 River Road. Hackensack Deputy 1, Safety Chief, UASI Special Operations, Hackensack Shoring Unit and Hackensack Rescue 1 responded. Upon arrival units assisted New Milford Firefighters with extracting one victim from the vehicle. At 6:07 Deputy 1 reported victim was placed in the care of BLS for treatment and transport to local hospital. City of Hackensack units remained on scene to assist with shoring up the damaged area of the structure so the vehicle can be safely removed.
Fair lawn NJ, a single vehicle Friday afternoon, 02/24, crash in the 300 block of River Road, Fair Lawn, resulted in a non-life threatening injury to the vehicle’s driver, and the temporary closure of River Road near the crash site. A utility pole was damaged in the mishap, but there were no reported disruptions to utility services in the area. A tow truck removed the wreckage from the roadway. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn EMS, and a paramedic team from St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center responded to the incident.
Fair Lawn NJ, on Thursday January 5th at 2:42 AM ,Glen Rock Patrol Officer Sam Evans was dispatched to assist officers from the Fair Lawn Police Department on River Road with a distraught male subject, armed with a knife and a baseball bat. Officers were able to disarm the subject without incident. He was subsequently transported to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for evaluation. There were no injuries.
Fair Lawn NJ, no injuries were reported following an early Saturday afternoon, 05/07, crash in which the driver of an older model Toyota Camry lost control of his vehicle, veered off of River Road in Fair Lawn, and struck a VW Passat parked in the driveway of a single family home located in the 4-00 block of River Road. The Passat came to rest against the home, but no structural damage was reported. The damaged Camry continued southbound on River Road and came to rest on the front lawn of a nearby home. Fair Lawn Police and Fair Lawn Fire Department responded to the incident. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks.
