Trenton NJ, Senators Anthony M. Bucco and Michael Testa said that the State Board of Education is focused more on advancing identity politics than building stronger relationships between parents and teachers in response to the board’s vote to approve a proposal to remove “equality” in the “Managing for Equality and Equity in Education” Chapter of New Jersey’s Administrative Code. The board should be more respectful of parental rights, the senators said.

This rising senior from the Academy of the Holy Angels brought home a sought-after Metropolitan High School Theater Award for Best Vocal Performance in a Female-Identifying Role. She was honored for her portrayal of Feste in “Twelfth Night the Musical.”

Demarest NJ, Kathryn Fragola, a brand new graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels, is now the newest member of the Fordham University Dance Team. Fragola’s signing ceremony was held at her alma mater on June 8. AHA Head Dance Coach Jenny Sweet, Fordham Dance Coach Stephanie Yonkovich, and Fragola’s parents Virginia and Vito were on hand to celebrate.

The NHS was established in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals to encourage and honor students who exemplify scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Angels who excel in the sciences were welcomed into the Science National Honor Society. Students who demonstrate excellence in mathematics are now members of Mu Alpha Theta.

Demarest NJ,  outstanding world language students from the Academy of the Holy Angels have been welcomed into the French, Italian, Latin, and Spanish honor societies. AHA World Language Department Chair Lisa Betti, who organized and led both ceremonies, noted how the study of world languages allows people to connect and explore different perspectives, including how other people view us. She congratulated the inductees, expressing her hope that this is just the beginning of their discovery of languages and cultures.
