Mother With Infant child Escape Serious Injury in Ridgewood Intersection Crash

Ridgewood NJ, a mother and her infant child escaped serious injury when their vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Spring Avenue and South Irving Street, Ridgewood shortly after 11:30 AM on Friday, 06/02. Fortunately, the child was properly restrained into a rear seat mounted car seat at the time of the crash. Ridgewood Fire Department EMTs evaluated the mother and child prior to their release from the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved refused medical aid/evaluation. Ridgewood Fire Department firefighters attended to a minor crash related fluid spill. One (1) crash related summons was issued by investigating Ridgewood Police Patrol Division Officer Peter Youngberg. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.

Debris Build Up in the Ho-Ho-Kus Brook May be Contributing to Flooding at Ridgewood High School

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood resident Boyd Loving caught some pics of blockage in Ho-Ho-Kus Brook near Spring Avenue that may be contributing to flooding at Ridgewood High School. Before we blame every thing on “Climate Change”, in New Jersey, the responsibility of cleaning debris from clogged waterways can vary depending on the location and type of waterway. According to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, “the property owner of the land under the river or stream is responsible for debris removal after a storm event.

Spring Avenue Resident Confronts Intruder Reports Burglary

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Report that on July 18, 2020, a Spring Avenue resident reported suspicious acts in progress. The victim reported an unknown male party entered her home at 0415hrs then immediately left the residence when he was confronted. A description was provided of the actor and patrol located a person in the area. Upon further investigation, the victim could not confirm if the located party was the male who had entered the residence and the victim did not wish to pursue criminal complaints at this time.

Ridgewood Police Respond to Rollover Crash at the intersection of Kenilworth Road and Spring Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, One (1) summons was issued by Ridgewood PD in connection with a Monday morning, 07/18 rollover crash at the intersection of Kenilworth Road and Spring Avenue in Ridgewood. The driver of a Toyota Camry allegedly ran a stop sign and hit a Hyundai Santa Fe, which then rolled over on its side. A retired Ridgewood firefighter assisted the Hyundai’s driver from the vehicle by kicking out the windshield; he suffered a minor cut to his leg in the process, but refused to be transported to a hospital. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Ridgewood FD personnel attended to a minor crash related fluid spill. Spring Avenue was closed in both directions between Circle and South Pleasant Avenues while the crash scene was being cleared.
