Twp. of Washington NJ, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 and Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the Bergen County Road Department will be applying a high friction surface treatment to Washington Avenue (weather permitting) between Pascack Road and Meisten Street. The purpose of this is to enhance the safety of vehicular traffic travelling on this roadway. The following is a schedule and description of road closures:

Twp. of Washington NJ, On Monday November 21st Washington Avenue will be closed to ALL traffic in both directions between Pascack Road and Jackson Avenue from 7am to 3pm. A detour route will be set up using Jackson Avenue and Manhattan Avenue.
Ridgewood Police: A black bear has been spotted on the east side of town this morning. Bears live in our area and will leave the woods in search of food. If seen, make yourself known with loud noises and do not corner it /make sure it has an escape route. Black bear attacks are very rare but if you see one acting aggressively, give us a call.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, according to the Ho-Ho-Kus Police yesterday at 532pm , a bear was still in the area, now seen on Racetrack Road. NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife has been contacted and provided same advice.
