West Side is collecting fresh produce for two local mission partners focused on helping neighbors who are struggling with food insecurity – the Social Service Association (SSA) of Ridgewood & Vicinity and Parkside Community Church in Westwood, which distributes free meals, pantry items and more in conjunction with the nonprofit organization Connex4NPO.

Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra’s artistic director, Kyunghun Kim, and the group’s president, David Nussenbaum, return to the Ridgewood Library on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m., to discuss the RSO’s all-opera concert at West Side Presbyterian Church on Nov. 19. Maestro Kim will discuss and perform from the keyboard highlights of the Nov. 19th program, featuring some of opera’s most beloved arias. The two will also delve into the life and times of Mozart, Verdi, Bizet and Puccini.

Ridgewood NJ, The West Side Concert Series wraps up its 2018-2019 season with a performance by one of the nation’s premier professional chamber choirs, Kinnara Ensemble. In their concert, “Gravity & Levity,” the choir will wander through the years, from Renaissance motets through 20th-century part songs. Music will include White’s “Lamentations of Jeremiah,” Debussy’s “Trois Chansons” and works by Stanford and Gibbons.
Admission is free; donations are welcome. Bring your friends!

The performance will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at West Side Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Ars Musica will present a wide-ranging selection of the composer’s most popular works for chorus and orchestra, accompanied by the award-winning Adelphi Orchestra, together with our Encore Young Artist soloists and the New Jersey State Children’s Chorus. Our featured soloist
will be Lauren Worsham, soprano and 2014 Tony Award Nominee.

Ridgewood Orchestra’s Love Themed Concert on March 8 Features Romantic Favorites from the Beatles, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, and Wagner

Ridgewood NJ , From Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet to an uplifting medley of Beatles songs, the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra (RSO) will present an evening of love songs on Friday March 8 at 8:00 p.m., at the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood. Featuring romantic favorites spanning two centuries, the theme of the concert is “All You Need is Love.” The concert features guest soloist Lindsay Deutsch, an American violinist who recently toured as solo violinist with Yanni, and has thrilled audiences world-wide with her brilliant display of technique and musicianship.   The program will present the NJ premiere of Beatles Fantasy, an arrangement of Beatles songs taking the listener on a journey spanning the Beatles’ music throughout the group’s career. Popular Beatles’ tunes will be unmistakable yet original when the orchestra and violin soloist Lindsay Deutsch perform the concerto in three movements led by Artistic Director and Conductor Stephen Culbertson.
