Hawthorne Police Officers Leap into the Passaic River after a Suspect Attempting to Escape

Hawthorne NJ, on Tuesday a stolen car traffic stop on the  North 6th Street Bridge shortly before 4:30 p.m led to a handcuffed suspect leaping into the Passaic River . Hawthorne Officers jumped in after him .
Finally recovering the prisoner by boat .  No injuries reported .

Should We Cancel Father’s Day?

Some Woke activists suggested that Mother’s Day be called “Birthing Persons Day.” After all, some “pregnant persons” identify as men (or non-women) and don’t like being in a place called a “maternity ward.” If the birthing person’s pronouns are “he/him,” that person might identify as the child’s father though not contributing the paternal genetic material. Should “he” get a Father’s Day card?

Apple aims to kill the CAPTCHAs with Private Access Tokens

Ridgewood NJ, these things drive us crazy . Apple plans to kill CAPTCHAs with its new Private Access Tokens technology. Private Access Tokens can prove that an HTTP request is coming from a human by recognizing if a client device is following typical user patterns. Signed tokens are sent to servers in a multi-step process that doesn’t involve the server knowing anything about the device or user. Using Private Access Tokens requires a device running iOS 16 or macOS Ventura. Apple is working to make Private Access Tokens a web standard.

Allendale Police Officer Helps Deliver a Baby

Allendale NJ, Allendale Police Officer Alex Helmer had a day on the job he won’t soon forget after helping deliver a baby at a borough home. While on patrol, Officer Helmer was flagged down by a motorist, the baby’s father, who was rushing to get home to meet his wife who was in active labor. When Officer Helmer arrived at the home, baby Amelia was making her entrance into the world. Officer Helmer used his training to help mom deliver a beautiful, happy, and healthy baby girl! Mom and Amelia are doing great. Officer Helmer and Amelia now have a lifelong bond. We are excited to see Amelia grow and congratulate mom, dad, and big brother!

Emily Schmitt Receives the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award on behalf of the West Point Society

Ridgewood NJ, Kirsten Dickson presented the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award on behalf of the West Point Society of New Jersey, an organization of graduates and friends of West Point who live in New Jersey. This award is presented annually at approximately 100 high schools throughout New Jersey, recognizing students who excel in academics, athletics, community service, good citizenship, and leadership. This year’s Ridgewood High School award recipient is Emily Schmitt.

Ramsey Woman Arrested On Drug and Prostitution Charges

Ramsey NJ, according to Ramsey Police , officers found Donna Olsen, 35, and Carlo Maltempti, 48, at an Extended Stay America hotel just off Route 17, while responding to a welfare check request. A preliminary investigation led to the arrests of the two occupants in the hotel room.

Body Pulled from Hudson on Sunday

Fort Lee NJ, according to the Port Authority Police a body was pulled from the Hudson River on Sunday afternoon has been ruled a possible suicide, Port Authority patrol officers spotted an abandoned vehicle on the lower level of the New Jersey-bound George Washington Bridge, and found a man’s driver license in the car.
