Woodcliff Lake NJ, in December we reported that the Township of Mahwah aircraft noise complaints were spiraling . The amount of low flying aircraft over Mahwah appeared to have increased significantly . Now mayors in several Bergen County towns say their residents are being disturbed by an increase in noise from planes out of Teterboro Airport, and they want more say over the situation. For months the towns in what is called the Pascack Valley have been logging and collecting data on the amount of noise complaints from their residents .

The District has updated its health and safety protocols in response to the State mandate requiring in-school universal masking that will expire on March 7, 2022. These changes have been made in consultation with the Village of Ridgewood Health Department and the School Physician after careful review of the revised NJDOH guidance.

Glen Rock Police discover a tangled Web of on-line love Scammers

Glen Rock NJ, on Tuesday February 22 at 9:06 AM , a Glen Rock resident contacted police after becoming the victim of an online fraud. Detectives were able to trace one of the fraudulent payments from the victim to a 65-year-old female in Washington state. D/Sgt. James Calaski contacted the female from Washington and determined that she was also a victim of what is called a romance scam. The female had engaged in an online relationship with a male who she believed to be a contractor in Texas flipping houses. This man convinced her to “invest” $13,000 of her own money into these house flips. In addition, he convinced her to receive “investments” from other people and forward these payments to him in the form of crypto currency. These additional payments were more than $18,000. D/Sgt Calaski was able to convince her that she was the victim of a romance scam and assist her in ceasing her involvement and communication with the suspect. With the victim’s assistance, D/Sgt Calaski was able to track the suspect to Africa.

Ridgewood NJ, Governor Phil Murphy, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, NJDOT Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chair Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti and NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett  announced on Monday ,February 28th the fifth consecutive year of no fare increases for NJ TRANSIT and that Wi-Fi will be installed on all NJ TRANSIT buses .

Trenton NJ,  Legislation sponsored by Assembly members Carol Murphy, Ned Thomson and Annette Chaparro was introduced Monday allowing for a hybrid fueling model in New Jersey.

The “Motorist Fueling Choice and Convenience Act” would allow gas stations the option of offering self-serve, while still requiring stations with more than four dispensers to continue to offer full-service gas pumps, giving consumers the option to pump their own gas if they wish.

Two People Extricated from Multi Car Collision on Route 17 in Waldwick

Waldwick  NJ,  all units from Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department operating at a multi car collision on Route 17 at Sheridan Avenue . Crews had to extricate two individuals from a Honda that went off the road and over the guardrail and landed on the passenger side. Both victims were removed swiftly and turned over to WALVAC for transport.
