Westwood NJ, A former sales representative today admitted his role in a scheme to defraud New Jersey state health benefits programs, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.
Scott Shekitka, 42, formerly of Westwood, New Jersey, pleaded guilty by videoconference before U.S. District Judge John Michael Vazquez to an information charging him with conspiracy to commit health care fraud.

Trenton NJ, Governor Murphy today signed the Motorbus and Passenger Rail Service Employee Violence Prevention Act (S4701) to create new tools for protecting transit workers throughout the state. In addition to upgrading the penalty for all assaults on a motorbus or autobus operator, an operator’s supervisor, or a rail passenger employee, the bill enables NJ TRANSIT and other carriers to suspend or prohibit from ridership individuals who commit assaults against employees and ensures NJ TRANSIT and private bus companies equip all buses and trains with communications systems to quickly contact law enforcement in an emergency.

These investigations are statewide Paterson,Keansburg and Millville and being conducted since the first of the year .These investigation is being conducted pursuant to Attorney General Directive 2019-4, which implements the statutory requirement that the Attorney General’s Office conduct the investigation of any death that occurs during an encounter with a law enforcement officer acting in the officer’s official capacity or while the decedent is in custody, and which establishes clear standards and procedures for conducting such investigations.

Hawthorne NJ, the impact of a two (2) vehicle, Sunday afternoon, 01/09, crash at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Warburton Avenue in Hawthorne propelled one of vehicles into a nearby residential structure. The adult female driver of that vehicle, a Honda HR-V, sustained a non-life threatening leg injury and was transported by Hawthorne EMS to The Valley Hospital for treatment. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged Honda from the scene. Damage to the structure was light to moderate. Hawthorne Police, Hawthorne Fire Department, and Hawthorne EMS personnel and vehicles responded to the incident.

This is a change from our current state of affairs which requires 1099Ks to be generated only for $20,000 of gross revenue and 200 individual transactions of this type.

Ridgewood NJ, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope team fully deployed its 21-foot, gold-coated primary mirror, successfully completing the final stage of all major spacecraft deployments to prepare for science operations.
On January 2, Ridgewood firefighters rescued a passenger from a minivan involved in a crash with a Honda Civic sedan, according to the Daily Voice. Both cars had severe damages and were towed from the crash site at North Walnut Street and Franklin Avenue. The female passenger was then transported to the Valley Hospital to receive treatment for the neck injuries she sustained during the crash.
