Is New Jersey’s Online Gambling Boom a Net Positive?

In 2013, New Jersey legalized state-based online gambling. The decision to license and regulate online gaming companies came after the courts ruled that the Wire Act and Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) don’t apply to instate wagers. In other words, if gambling is conducted and contained within state lines, it doesn’t breach any federal laws.

Village of Ridgewood Receives Grant For an Inclusionary Playground at Habernickel Park

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Village Manger , Ridgewood received some great news this week! The Department of Community Affairs has awarded the Village a $68,000 Local Recreation Improvement Grant (LRIG) to help offset the cost of a new inclusionary playground at Habernickel Park. This upgrade, along with the new pavilion (slated to be installed this fall) will add additional benefits to the use and aesthetics of the park.

Ridgewood Crew Rows Two Boats Into Top 10 at 2024 US Rowing Youth National Championships

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew capped off its spring sprint rowing season in fine form at the four-day 2024 US Rowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida. Competing on the 2,000-meter course at Nathan Benderson Park in sweltering temperatures that reached the upper 90s each day, Ridgewood joined a massive field of 853 qualifying boats from 224 clubs around the country. In all, the team placed five out of its six boats in the top 16 and saw two boats row their way into the championship final.

Reduced Speed Limits Go Into Effect on Six Wyckoff Roads

Wyckoff NJ, in Wyckoff, NJ, six roads now have a reduced speed limit of 25 miles per hour. The roads affected by this new regulation are Clinton Avenue, Eder Avenue, Grandview Avenue, Hillcrest Avenue, Lawlins Road, and Newtown Road. The town implemented these changes in an effort to enhance road safety.
