Ridgewood Nj, Ridgewood police, fire and EMS personnel at the scene of a Friday morning, 08/07, accident involving a pedestrian and motor vehicle. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Irving Street shortly after 7:30 AM.

The pedestrian sustained very minor injuries and refused transport to a hospital. Police issued a summons to the driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

  1. It is time for a police sting at that cross walk. I try to cross when I get off the bus every night around 7 and no one seems to notice there is a cross walk there. I wave my arms in vain trying to get drivers to see it. If there are 2 white lines across the street you HAVE TO STOP FOR PEDESTRIANS!

    Once it starts getting dark earlier that crossing is particularly dangerous.

  2. Speeding is also a problem in this stretch of road.

  3. If my beloved village can afford to LOSE $500K IN QUARTERS, it can afford foot traffic patrols downtown.

  4. No, no, they cannot afford the extra police patrols because they are busy funding the parking garage behemoth.
