Ridgewood NJ, Traffic Alert 8/24/18 ,East Ridgewood Ave will be closed beginning at 7:00am this morning from Maple Ave towards Paramus road while the road is milled in preparation for next weeks paving. Detours are in place. When the road is reopened this evening use caution when traveling the area as there will be several raised manholes until paving is complete.
Expect delays in the area.

Ridgewood NJ, Traffic Alert: PSE&G has hired a contractor to restore the pavement on E. Ridgewood Avenue. They will begin milling E. Ridgewood Avenue, starting at Maple Avenue , and move east on Friday, August 24th for 4 days to be followed by paving. This work will be completed by Labor Day, weather permitting. To avoid possible traffic congestion in Paramus, this work schedule was amended to these new dates on 8/17/18.

Ridgewood NJ, PSE&G will be finishing work on its gas main upgrade project on east Ridgewood Ave this week. On Tuesday 11/14 they will be working at the intersection of East Ridgewood Ave and Pleasant Ave. E.Ridgewood Ave will have one lane of traffic between Somerville Rd and Pleasant Ave. Pleasant Ave will be blocked to Northbound traffic at spring Ave. Police officers will be present to help with Somerville School drop off and pick up.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police report that they have received numerous reports of an odor of natural gas on the east side of town. We have located a ruptured gas main along the PSEG right of way near East Ridgewood Ave. The odor is traveling south along the Ho-Ho-kus Brook. PSEG is on scene. The gas is venting in the open air there are no residents being evacuated at this time.

TRAFFIC ALERT / PROLONGED ROAD CLOSURE
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Ave is closed to westbound traffic at Paramus Road. Vehicles entering Ridgewood from Paramus should use Midland Ave or Linwood Ave. Due to a utility emergency the road may be closed up to 48 hours.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood PD, FD, and EMS personnel responded to a “pedestrian struck” report on Friday, 10/07 at approximately 1900 hours. The incident occurred on East Ridgewood Avenue near Somerville Road. With the assistance of a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital, the victim was evaluated on location before being transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. The extent of the victim’s injuries were not made public at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.

Ridgewood Nj, Ridgewood police, fire and EMS personnel at the scene of a Friday morning, 08/07, accident involving a pedestrian and motor vehicle. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Irving Street shortly after 7:30 AM.
The pedestrian sustained very minor injuries and refused transport to a hospital. Police issued a summons to the driver for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
