the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, based upon the information and projections submitted by ITDC, confirmation of ITDC’s numbers by the auditing firm, Lerch, Vinci, & Higgins, and the legality confirmation by the Ridgewood Board attorney, Mr. Giacobbe, Dr. Gorman recommended that the Board give ITDC an opportunity to run a successful program in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Furthermore, if ITDC’s enrollment does not meet the projected numbers by October 31, they will be asked to make further cuts during the next school year to attempt to reach a profit, and the program will be closed at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Additionally, if they do meet their projected numbers and break even or show a surplus, the recommendation is to allow ITDC to operate in the 2022-2023 school year on probationary status. Following a discussion by the Board, they voted to accept the recommendation.
Haven’t they had a VERY LONG TIME already to run a successful program?
Funny bookkeeping was the problem.
Are the teachers still getting a free ride?
It’s called accounting iregularities
If it required massive loans from the regular school education money–which were hidden from the public for fear there could be a necessary outrage– how can it suddenly become profitable in 2 years unless, instead of “money under the table” it is turned into an outright addition to their legal budget? This is still being done against the law of the state which says that no public educational system can compete with private pre-schools as they automatically have an advantage–like the illegal transfer of money that has been keeping it open–over private, for-profit schools. Our Board of Ed majority still seem to think that’s a private privilege–“if you have the right pull, you can do anything you want.” Is there nothing that can be done to prevent addition sums of money in their budget and their basic illegality in the first place?
