Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Chief Van Goor divulged some interesting information to combat the rash of misinformation circulating in the mainstream and over social media about the per diem EMT issue . The Chief in an EMT FAQ rattled off a litany of Firefighter qualifications , who responds to emergency medical calls and yes, the modifications have already been tested in February 2021 when no per diem EMT’s were available .
So far we have heard nothing on the value of the per-diem EMT program , other than it “saves money” . While attacks on the Mayor , Ridgewood Council and Fire Department seem to be running rampant .
Once again the Ridgewood blog would like to remind you , that once the high density housing was agreed to in the central business district the cost of running Ridgewood would spiral upward , with a far larger demand for services ie Fire and Police not less.
The Village has already seen this with massive outlays for water infrastructure ie Ridgewood Water and now an attempt to fix congestion problems coming to the Central Business District with road projects .
I applaud the Village Council and Department Managers for conducting a trial of the proposed change in EMS Service. Hopefully this change will prove to be a positive change for the Residents.

Not Exactly. WE were ready willing and able to work, and it was Van Goor who was responsible to schedule us,, and He didn’t .. how come???
This is all bullshit this is dirty politics. They knew what they were going to do. This is about keeping full control , meaning that they have full guarantee protection of employment. Who would dare and try to get rid of the party partner now. That’s it, they are locked in for life. Smart move. They’re going to be more important than the police department., All they need now is to have a Couple fire Marshall’s that can carry a gun. Oh yes
